Like anyone would be shocked by that revelation. There will be plant life and such. Maybe a camel caravan..but no battles. I'll leave that to the medieval war fare area. Oh! And the whole thing slopes up to a raised base...yes yes..I kept the edges at the baseplate plus a brick thing. Nope. It will preview at Brickcon. Mostly because it has a FAR way to be shipped and will be in set up mode until Brickcon. But also partially that I don't do WIP's. (Psst..the walls have ears!

Sand?! There be a castle on that layout and an oasis and some other loveliness. Yeah it is a solid base 4x4 covered (and raised up) in tan but hey...I'm not called the Queen of Tan for nothing.
