And yet, somehow, I had you down for 64x64. I must be a mind-reader, no? ;)

Some of you have already told me offline, but for those who haven't...when are you all arriving? I am currently planning to be at the venue mid-morning (10-11).

I'll try to be around as close to opening as possible to help get the Battle section all set up; if you need help lugging stuff, moving tables, filling in blank areas, etc., let me know.

I contacted Josh off-forum, but for everyone else, I'm working a half-day today (brutal since I had to be up at 5:30 after staying up till 3:30 trying to finish my MOC), so I'll be in around 1pm.

My MOC has about a dozen modules, none of them terribly large (for ease of transport) but that means many trips back and forth to the truck. If anyone happens to be standing around the castle display when I get there, I may ask you to help me run them in from the loading area out front.

Thanks! See you all soon!

Well BrickCon is over and it was a wild ride!

I had a great time and felt it was one of the better years in recent history. I met new people, got to get reacquainted with old friends and got to know old friends better. I love you guys!

"Castle" was a major force at the Con this year. There were four different sections that were all technically "Castle". We had our CC layout, a very packed stand-alone MOC section, a massive Hogwart's display by Alice Finch, and a truly incredible mythological layout by Vancouver Train Club. Besides an incredible array of MOCs, we also claimed a majority of the top-end awards.

Alice Finch took home "People's Choice" (selected by the public) and "Best in Show" (selected by Con Attendees) for her Hogwart's.
Jordan Perry (AK_Brickster) and David Frank (Fraslund) took the two honorable mentions for "People's Choice".

David Frank also won "Best Castle Building" and Craig Ferguson won "Best Castle Scene" for his Helm's Deep.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to Castle this year. I was asked by several people how we have such talented builders and I just said that Castle naturally rocks. ;) I am truly lucky to be your coordinator...you all make my job easy!

I would just like to point a few highlights for me. I wish I had trophies for the following people, you all are great and we wouldn't have had nearly as good a showing as we did.

Frank Filz - Frank, you really stepped up and filled in an incredibly large section. I was so busy rushing about, I don't know if I told you how good it looked, but it was quite impressive. You were also very flexible about changes that had to take place and I greatly appreciated that. Frank also wins the crowd interaction award for being so willing to talk to the public when many of us bailed out. Well done, sir, thank you!

Fraslund - For bringing a smile to my face and being incredibly humble man. Anytime my enthusiasm was beginning to wane throughout the weekend, talking to David picked me up. You can't help but smile when he is around and his passion is contagious. He also got a boatload of compliments for his section and it didn't go to his head at all. He seemed genuinely surprised that people liked it so much. You are a pleasure to work with!

BiggerJim - For being an all-around nice guy and for being willing to step with a hand whenever and wherever needed. I am proud to know you and you are rock, my friend.

EK_Knight - You really stepped out of your comfort-zone on many occasions and really impressed me. Good job!

Plums_deify - You are simply awesome and you know that. But I need to say thank you for the ultimate highlight of my Con experience. Being allowed to randomly hand out free lego sets during the public hours was amazing and made me feel really good. It was quite the pick-me-up!

There were many more great experieces and I appreciate all of you that I got to hangout and interact with. Thank you for making it a great time.

Build On,
Josh

CAAASSSSSTTTTLLLLEEEE!!!

I also had a great time at this, my second BrickCon. It was great to meet a lot of new people, and to now be able to put faces to many of the CC screen names that I've become so familiar with over the last couple of years. I was even lucky enough to bump into Daken the Bladesmith as he swung by our display during public viewing hours. (On, Garheim!)

I just wanted to let everyone know that you are all fantastic builders, and more than that, amazing people, and I can't wait to hang out with you all again next year!

I had a blast this weekend and let me just say, I highly recommend doing a Con with Jordan that guy is awesome; Great builder and great friend! Josh, Jordan, Frank, Thomas, Chris Malloy, and of course Alice are such amazing builders are so much fun to be around I wish we could do this more often (minus all the brick hauling). We also got to hang out with E-Knight and Blue which was a lot of fun!

Looking forward to our next Sealug meeting and of course next year.

Josh - Thanks for taking such good care of all of us and hope to see you at a few of the meetings!

I had a blast. I've always been impressed with folks who finish building at the event, I joined that dubious crowd this year.

I will post some pictures this evening maybe.

I always enjoy interacting with the public even when I am tired and not feeling so well. I hope I didn't gift any of you with my cold.

Jordan (or David), during my last minute walk through of the area after my car was loaded I found a Dragon Knights shield on the floor, probably Jordan's considering the play Alice's kids were doing with your section.

Sounds like another Pacific Northwest Castle Group homerun. Nicely done guys and gals. So, where do I go for pictures?

Oh hai!

(pictures are slowly filtering up on flickr. I'd give it a day or two to allow for recovery.)

Awesomeness ensued this year. Yes it did.

I'd like to extend a big THANK YOU to my castle folk who doubled as elves during public hours (Josh, Jeremy, Tim, Kristen, Heidi) and those who helped me move prizes (Josh, Jim, Chris, Sean). You all make my job easier. :)

Yay castle! We sort of swept BrickCon, and that's pretty Megablocks awesome. We rock.
