Anyone planning on going to Bricks Cascade?

It looks like it might be possible for me to attend. Any other classic-castle folks?

Since I would be local, I might actually bring ALL my castle stuff and have a somewhat bigger display than at BrickCon, with three big castles, the big mountain, and something new.

I was just about to start a thread on this. YES, I am going. I will in fact be the Castle coordinator at Bricks Cascade, and I'd really like to start planning our section. So for everyone who's going, please sound off, and let me know what you're thinking about building. In particular, what stuff do you intend to be standalone, and what stuff do you want to connect into a continuous display? I'd like to get a sense of the space that we'll need.

I still need to confirm that I am attending, although it's pretty certain.

Given that it is local, I would like to bring out all my castle stuff, with probably something new (maybe not a new castle this time though).

Given that I easily filled 160 inches of table space (60" deep) at BrickCon, I'd probably go for at least 180" this time (as long as that much space is reasonable to ask for...). I could easily expand that by up to 30" since I have a wide river/narrow ocean running front to back in the middle.

My display is modular Base8. I would love too coordinate with others and make more of an integrated display if anyone is interested. I have orcs, skeletons, and Scorpion knights as my main invading force with Lion and Paradisa knights defending. The orcs and Scorpions will be coming from the right side of my display (skeletons can come from either side, but would work better coming from the right also).

My edges can have roads or rivers coming off if anyone needs, otherwise, they are 1 brick high of green.

Thanks

Frank

I am hoping to come. Will be able to confirm and plan builds after Christmas.

Do you guys have your stuff listed in the "My MOCs" list on the Bricks Cascade web site? That will help me to plan the space a bit (I hope).

I'm about to register (long story, long negotiations with my wife...), I'm wondering how much space is still available for Castle?

I could easily fill 15' width of 5' deep table if it was available.

It looks as though we have 24 tables' worth of space (12 long x 2 deep, which goes around a U-turn), so there should be space for whatever you want to bring!

Ok, I will bring everything and we'll see what fits. I'm debating whether I can make it on Thursday or not, maybe I should show up Thursday so we can all talk about how to map out the space.

I note from the map that those 24 tables include Pirate also, how much Pirate stuff is there?

Alice Finch is bringing her Hogwarts, is she bringing the whole thing, or just part? The MOC entry says "part" but I don't know if "part" is less than what she brought to BrickCon in October.

What size are the tables? If they are typical 8' tables than venues seem to have, then for full utilization I would be looking at 4 tables. If that really is feasible, looking at this map, it probably makes sense to put my display at one of the ends.

I am only bringing 2 tables worth of Hogwarts since it takes up so much room to transport it.

I want to thank Sean for coordinating the Castle theme at Bricks Cascade. We had a rocking theme, occupying the largest table island with 8 large displays and many smaller creations. We even had two Helms Deeps. And of course Oz which won best Castle Story and overall People's Choice.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to display all four of my castles in a 15'x5' display.

The bummer is I'm not sure what I can do to top it. It took about 10 hours to set up which was pushing the limits. I was still setting up as the public streamed in (of course I've always done this no matter the size of my display). I even set up more on Sunday morning (after realizing I had forgotten to populate a small outpost).

You're too modest; you're leaving out the fact that your display won for Best Unit. And then there was Chris Wunz's various Reformation-themed MOCs, one of which won Best Character. Plus, don't forget Hogwarts, which won Best Castle Building and Best Castle Overall (meaning that Alice took won the 2013 Castle set collection from Lego!).

Your stuff was quite a sight to see, especially when I got the up-close tour of the various building interiors, a view that the public doesn't often get!

Minions. You, sir, need minions. Got any passably nimble kids or nephews? Flying monkeys? Hirelings or henchmen?
