For individuals: no, it winds up being determined by the space you take upon arrival with MOC setup, then by the theme leader's guidance, and finally how many attend (I've been asked to compress my displays about half the time. While I've done well in the past, it's because I get there right as it opens for MOCs (1200 on first day).

For officially recognized collabs: Yes, space is allocated by 1. Todd, in a general map location and 2. the theme leads. It can be great or cruddy depending on how things role out. The most important thing here is to get recognized as a collab by the leads, then make sure everyone bringing a MOC registers early and as part of the collab. If you are recognized as a collab, everyone has to display together. in 2013 we were not recognized and we wound up in 3 different areas.

So early next year we need to be recognized as an official collab by Todd. I will ask when I think he has the time to work it. He is very busy....

Does anyone know what benchmarks you (or we rather :) ) need to reach to be an official recognized collab?

Hey guys! I have been thinking about BrickFair recently and thought I might bump this thread back up! So do we have any idea as of yet about what type of collaboration we should do?

It's all up in the air for now! I'm currently dealing with a few schedule and logistical issues so I can attend the fair.

Just saw this thread- I will most definitely be there. I live like 4 minutes away from the convention center, so I will certainly be there- I was there last year, but I don't really think I specifically met anyone other than Mark.

Yeah, we should get this thread rolling again! So does anyone have anymore ideas for display?

Good call to get the thread going again. Are we still contemplating a big LCC build?

What if there was an LCC collab for one of the island cities, as I don't think anyone's really detailed those too much- like Crakenhaven in between Garheim and Lenfald, or Val-Augustos in between lenfald and Loreos? Something that isn't really governed by any one nation, and would allow for a multi-cultural city, so as to better show off Roawia as a whole?

I believe so.

I think the general idea that we came to was that if we were to do a city all factions would be represented in some fashion.

So, before the thread got a little de-active, we were planning on building a huge, siege/battle dio, of a large, evil looking castle by the three factions, with Outlaws defending the thing (Size to be decided). Plus a 4x4 Pixelated Roawia map using 64 stud base plates for each section. Also, anyone who wanted to bring a couple of small builds showing their perspective faction was welcomed as well.

So, where do we want to start? :)

You know it's funny because before I even created the thread, I had planned on building a massive Outlaw castle that all three factions were sieging, no joke. Now though, I am wondering just how it would be possible with my time. I have around 700 castle themed minifigures across all factions (300+ of those exclusively for Outlaws.

I don't know how many of those will make their way to the venue, but I hope most of them.

Gary, is there a maximum amount of space you can have per MOC?

As I've never been part of a collab, or even displayed at a convention, I'm not sure where we should start planning. Maybe laying out a concrete idea of what our display should look like, and electing somebody to lead the project is a good start.

You weren't asking me, but being a past BrickFair attendee I can tell you that you MOC can be as big as you want it to be.

I believe Schmidt was asking how much table space they'll give you per MOC. Which is also something I was wondering. If there is enough participation the LCC might have 1 or 2 tables full of MOCs at the fair.
