Zach is right. For example, I'd like to bring a couple of small builds (4-5) and one major build, all LCC themed. I was unsure how much space each one would have, and if they would all be together or at different spots.

Also, if I were to take 5-6 Castle MOC's and 1 Star Wars MOC, where would they all go? Thanks in advance

I think it is more of a matter of getting your space early. Space at BrickFair is kinda on a first come, first serve basis. With that said, you will get your space, it is just a matter of where you want to be located.

It is my understanding that they can be separated in their own categories or you can put them all in the "other" section.

Like Louie said, I believe you will most likely have to split them up among the separate themes. It shouldn't be a problem though. Most likely all you have to do is get a hold of the theme leader who organizes the majority of the theme's displays and layouts, and ask them if you can drop off a MOC, and where to find you if something were to go awry. I plan on only bringing Castle themed builds just to make it easier, but I wouldn't doubt if I end up spending an hour or two with the guys and gals in different themes, like military and the Pharaoh's Labyrinth, or wandering around.

But that's just my best guess. The real guy we should probably get a hold of is Gary, but he's probably busy with other stuff at the moment. I'll PM/FM after the GC6 if he doesn't find his way onto this thread sooner

Could I maybe hand out LCC- themed display cards with a cape on the back, or would I have to go get a vendor's table to do that?

What you might be able to do, is contact the Brickfair staff, and send them the cards with cape attached beforehand, and have them put them in the gift bags given out to the registered attendees. A lot of the vendors do this to drum up business, but I don't see why you couldn't. You wouldn't really be advertising a booth, more of the LCC project in general.

If you look at the Brickfair AFOL site, you will find that the registration fee, which includes basically everything, costs $67 ($52 if you register before 7/12/14).

Guys, so sorry about dropping off the end of the Earth on this thread. Christmas is the high-point of the year for us, and all that prep work can be draining (thank God -quite literally- for the Candle Light service, when a person can finally slow down and consider what Christmas is really supposed to be about...). And then LCC has to hold GC6 in all of January...anyway, November through January has been a blur. SO now that I've gotten that off my chest....

1. Yes, BFVA is a brutal land-grab if you do not get official collaborative status (OK, it's not that brutal). I will work on that with Todd, the owner, but I have to tell you he is absurdly busy, so I have to time my approach very carefully. My wife is one of the volunteers and she will cue me into when to approach him on it. However, even once you get collab status, it is critical for everyone participating to register your MOCs early on the website and be sure to use the drop-down collab menu to select the Lands of Classic Castle Collaboration selection. This is the only way for Todd to allocate sufficient space.

2. If you bring MOCs in more than one theme, you can either separate them where they should be (so Star Wars would be in Pop Culture or Space) OR if you want them all together, you have to display in MIXED. This is where Pharaoh's Labyrinth is. And since "Military" is only builds 1914 and later, our Civil War Collab is in Mixed as well, since that's where Todd puts Historical. As Louie notes, the Theme Lead is a good source for "Where should I put my awesome Friends MOC?" answers. Yes, that was a cheap anti-Friends joke.

3. If it seems like I am familiar with the Collab thing, it's because I co-run two of them, Pharaoh's Labyrinth and the Civil War Collab. Add to this I'm now judging the Sumo category, and will be setting up not just my LCC builds but also a very large build of Rorke's Drift ...In other words, I'm sorry but I just can't lead this effort for 2014. And with a large Waterloo build for Joshua and I in 2015, probably not then either. I will definitely particpate, but manning the collab and building much more than a few things are just not possible. But I may have one solution which is...

4. "Sir Haymar" is actually Joshua, my 16-year-old son (wow, what a reveal that was) and he has just told me that he's happy to step up and head this up if that is acceptable to all of you. Is anyone else interested? It is good to have a bit of an "in", which Joshua does have. But if one of you wanted to run the collab more, please don't be shy. After all Joshua was supposed to help me out in Pharaoh's Labyrinth...OK I'm just saying that to give him grief, anyway...

$52 sounds like a lot, but if you are one of the 1st 900 to pay, you get a decent goody bag along with your engraved LEGO name tag. Recommend you pay via PayPal prior to the first 900. I just paid this last weekend and was #149 to pay, so you still have a lot of time.

Yeah, I'm willing and happy to head this up, if you all are alright with me doing it. This will be my sixth year at BFVA, and I know a lot of the people, so I could probably get us prime real estate in Castle. Just something to consider.

I personally think Joshua would make an excellent head for our Collab! He's got connections, he's a veteran, and he's Gary's son! Lol But really, I think Joshua seems like a prime prospect. I personally don't want to lead the collab, because I have zero display experience, as well as zero idea of how to coordinate such a project. If there's any others who think they'd like a chance to head the collab speak up, and do so now!

Oh, by the way, what's Rorke's Drift Gary? Haven't heard of this collab yet!

I agree 100% with Zach regarding Josh's leading on the collaboration. With experience, desire, and a connection to the fair itself, Joshua makes perfect sense. Thank you for your willingness to take this on!

Gary, is there a general time frame when the 900 spots get filled up? Can we expect the spots to stay open for at least another few months or so?

I would love to be a part of an LCC collaboration, I think it would be a lot of fun! I also think that Joshua sounds good to lead this collaboration.

Of course all LCC members are automatically part of the collab! The two of you, Joshua, Zachary, SSchmidt, Andared, Gavin of Lockwood, Louie le Brickvalier, Aeridian, colobustaco, whoever can make it is welcome. We will have to nail down who is coming and going by May however, to organize better.

As late as mid-July. I have never seen the number surpassed before early June. But you never know. I would plan on paying no later than May 31 just to make sure.

An amazing battle in 1879 involving 120 British troops holding off 4000 (yes, you read that right) Zulu warriors at a hospital/missionary station just over the border from Zululand, South Africa. It was immortalized in Michael Caine's first movie, Zulu (although that fantastic movie got the real history of the entire first 45 minutes wrong). Wow! Thanks guys! I'm glad you all have faith in my ability to guide this display, It'll be my first time doing something like this, and I look forward to it! The first thing I'm going to need is for everyone who knows for sure that they'll be making it to BFVA to let me know, so I can make a list of people who'll be there. We can add more people later, if they can make it. Again, thanks guys for all the support, I look forward to the final display!
