Hey all,
ItLUG, the Italian LEGO Users Group, recently held a Legofest in the town of Ballabio in Northern Italy.
Check out some pictures.
Highlights for the castler include this
campanile, or bell tower, from the Basilica di San Nicolo, built by Marco Chiappa:
and this
London Bridge, built by Gaetano Notaro:
Also this
layout, which includes a cathedral and a ruined castle (not sure who built that one):

That London Bridge is fantastic!
I love how the tudor style houses are built right on to the bridge.
And that little loading dock, for picking up supplies from boats, is really cool.
This is probably my new favorite lego bridge.
The Bell Tower is amazing as well.
I like all the structual details and the clock.
The tower is just massive, it looks as though the builder had a little trouble putting the top on:

The castle town layout is impressive.
The amount of mottling is just insane!
I'd hate to be the one who has to take it all apart:

Great Stuff!

Check out the number of slopes (and inverted slopes) on that bridge! Yikes.
If you look at the rest of the gallery, there's a sweet Rube Goldberg contraption for loading soccer balls into train cars (I think).

Hey,
Marco has posted
many more pictures of his belltower, section by section, with lots of pics of construction details and reference pics from the real thing. My favorite part is the

That bell tower is insane...
Everything there just has me drooling...
the bell tower,
the bridge,
the mottling,
the layout,
sigh....
