Thousand Steine Land 2006

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

On the American side of the Atlantic we've been focused on all of the cool creations shown at Brickfest, but our German friends had their fun as well at their annual Thousand Steine Land (TSL) fest. Here are a couple of general galleries:

Image Image

In seperate threads we've already highlighted Andreas Boeker's Steinford Kirche and this great Duplo castle.

Some other MOCs of note to the Castle fan (anyone know the builders?):

Lord of the Rings creations: Image Image

Frauenkirche Dresden: Image

Klosterkirche: Image

Chinese palace: Image Image

Brandenburg Tor: Image

A haunted cemetery: Image

Roman temple: Image

Perhaps some of our German members could report on this fest? There are tons of other great MOCs as well in other themes, like the great town layouts and the moonbase.

I'm.... not sure what I like the best..... the LOTR layout? Most impressive. But that big tan Frauenkirche Dresden? Way cool! They are doing some fantastic things over there.

There are some truly magnificent models there. But I suppose its not to be surprising, as there are many overseas members here with unbelievable creations.

I agree, the LOTR designs are truly remarkable.

I know I'm biased, but I really do love those LOTR MOCs. That tower is massive, and they all seem to be built to a great scale with lots of accurate figs and action. That Nazgul is a great creation! Also, I liked seeing Pippen and Merry smoking Gillyweed.

I also thought that cemetary was interesting... was that dry ice that made this smokey mist? Anyway, quite good.

The others are massive and wonderfully built. The Brandenburg looks wonderful. I enjoyed surfing this gallery~

wow.... just, wow...
It's the only word I seem to be able to come up with right now; so just, wow....
Wait, I came up with something actually multi-syllabled - Why is it that it always seems that the some of the best builders are german? (I'm 5/8ths german, but aparently you need to live there for it to kick in...)

Just my thoughts and 10:30 PM,
