Alright well here we go again in Portland! About 3 ½ months till Brickfest PDX 2007!! :D

As Frank mentioned we’re coordinating the Castle display (along with the Pirate and Wild West). We’ve got plenty of room in Convention Center so we’d like to make this display bigger than the one we had at NWBC. The combined display at NWBC was a huge success using CCC, Base8, and unique creations. If you’re planning on attending please e-mail us or reply here and let us know if you're interested or not in participating in a combined display. Also please let us know what you’re planning on bringing so we can get a general idea of how much area we’re going to request. If you’re not sure you can attend but you’d like to have your MOCs there please e-mail us and we’ll see if we can figure something out.

We’d like to plan for a fun time to be had by all so send us your ideas for events you’d like to see happen. We’ll have the usual Show ‘n Tell, Castle Community Roundtable, and most likely a Landscaping discussion. Please let us know what else you’d like to do. If you’d like to do a particular session or contest just let us know and we’ll help make it happen.

We’ll most likely start a separate email list for planning the actual display so to keep the final presentation a bigger surprise. 8)

We’ve got plenty of time for planning and building so start brainstorming those ideas for creating one of the most exciting Castle displays ever!!!

Sounds great! I definitely want to be involved but not sure what exactly I'm building yet (CCCIV is taking up all my free time). I have some ideas though and will keep you guys informed. Thanks for coordinating this!

I would like to attend but I cannot commit, so, for someone who may not know their status until later, what are some good, smaller "filler" type things that I could do?

I am going to say a tenative yes at this point. It partly depends on when everything will be wrapped up on Sunday (I will need to travel back to La Grande.)

I would probably be able to provide some combined stuff, depending on what "road" you all decide to take. I can definately provide some tudor buildings at least.

But with that I would again like to say that I am still a tentative participant.

Sorry for the huge delay but between the holidays, power outages, loss of internet, and storm damage (tree service) I've been busy!!

Josh, it'll be great to see you again and looking forward to hear your ideas!

Recluce, good "filler" items would be city wall sections, Base8 landscaping, and houses. I hope you can attend!

wunztwice, I'm not positive but I think you may be able to get away as early as 6pm on Sunday maybe even earlier depending on how much you bring, what time the public is chased out, and when the closing ceremony is. Tudor buildings would be an excellent addition!

Ok, a quick question. Would I be able to contribute? I think I read somewhere that it was an adult thing, and I'm only 14, so...

If I can contribute, than I could possibly contribute some stuff. I have a Market Square that I built and had fun with, so I could do something similar(in Base8 or whatever) for this.

Thanks,

Everyone is welcome to attend but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Your Market Square looks great and would be an excellent addition to the display.

One thing that Brendan and I tried to work out for NWBC's display was "transition" modules that would work between someone's MOC and a Base8 module. We don't want anyone changing their MOC but if they could build transition modules using Base8 it will make it much easier to bring the combined display together.

I'm looking at maybe attending too. I have several CCC style homes/buildings and am willing to bring together castle sections or whatever (gate-house, etc...) I am also Remyth's big brother (over 18 ), while not a legal guardian would that count for this?

Just a reminder though, I am still not absolutely sure of my attendance yet...

As far as I know if you're over 18 and are telling us that you're his guardian that's fine with us. I don't believe you have to be his legal guardian just basically that you are going to be responsible for his actions. I'll check on this and let you know if I find out otherwise.

Your additions to the display sound great. Homes, buildings, wall sections, and gate-houses will all be welcomed. We're aiming for a larger display than what we had at NWBC which was 33'x5' I'm hoping we can muster 40'x7 1/2'. 8)

I really hope you and your brother can make it!

Now that Brickfest DC is off the books this year, I'll definately be attending PDX. Please include me in the castle festivities.

Hey everyone. My apolegies for the double post. I was talking to John(J1A3L5), and we decided to exchange a fig when we meet at the Brickfest PDX, and we thought that it would be pretty neat if everyone from CC did the same. I'm not sure how to arrange it, but it was just a thought.

What do you guys think? Yes? No? Not sure?

In Christ,

That would be fun. Much like the Christmas exchange: get a list, pair up, and go for it.

It might also be fun to snag one of Space's traditions and do a sig-fig photo-shoot.

I like this idea. If both Josh and Emily go, then they can organize this as well. Will be lots of fun.

MaxiVisVires - Welcome aboard

Remyth - A fig exchange sounds like a great idea.

I hadn't thought of a sig-fig photo shoot probably because before NWBC 2006 there would of only been a couple figs there. Sounds like another great idea. Does someone want to organize this? Darkie? :D
