I came up with the idea that we should make a time line of as many events of the medieval period as we can. From the dark ages to the crusades. I think it would really help some people get a grasp of all the events of the middle ages, ( it helped me to know more about that time period).

Do people agree?

If this were to happen, I guess these dates would be good starting and ending dates.

476 - Sacking of Rome to the Visigoths, and the disposing of Romulus Augustus.

1453 - The fall of Constantinople, or the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine empire), and the end of the Hundred years war with the Battle of Castillon

OR

1492 - The fall of Corduba, and Islamic dynasty in Spain to the Iberian Christians and the voyage of Columbus and the discovery of the New World.

Also, I am too lazy to look back and see if there is another topic like this. So, if so, the admins can lock it if they feel like it.

Anyone can just Google the topic. It takes someone special to yahoo it.

Which brings me to my point. We could make our very own time line, just for fun. Perhaps, for some of the important events, we could make LEGO vigs, or large scenes. I feel that a lot of parts of the medieval era are ignored, in MOC building.

Córdoba fell to Castile in 1236... it was Granada that was taken in 1492

Anyway, I don't see much point with a topic like this since in my view it just creates more problems than it solves. I mean, what is important enough to be on the list? Things like the massacre of Jerusalem in 1099 by the First Crusade, battle of Hastings 1066 or sack of Constantinople by the Fourth Crusade in 1204 sure would qualify as important events but would you for example want the signing of the Kalmar Union of 1397 here? And if so - how small or local could the events really be to fit on this list?

As said there's plenty of resources online to find all the information you need about global history and local history of any area. There's timelines, elaborate article on important and unimportant events, and so on.
It's like building a house to live in if you already have one, if you get what I'm saying.

If you made a timeline, I wouldn't use it but other people might. Although it is kinda true that there already are lots of timelines already made!

How about a LEGO timeline? Fill in only those dates that you can find a MOC to fit. We've had many MOCs in the past on specific events (this was even a CCC category in the past), or there are MOCs of specific historical figures and castles that could be used to illustrate certain events. If a lot of people pitched in and found the MOCs out there already (or built new ones), I could see this becoming a cool article.
