The Art of War is a piece of text written by Sun Tzu in the 6th century B.C. in Asia. The history channel recently fimed a show about it; that's how I came to learn of the treatise. It is divided into thirteen chapters, each chapter describing some sort of military tactic. The scary thing is this: through out history, the people who have followed Sun Tzu's tactics and principles (whether they realized it or not), have won. Time and time again, the principles of war laid out in The Art of War have suceeded. It was an interesting documentary; watch it if you get the chance.

Naturally, the original book was written in a language similar to Chinese; however, many English translations of the book exist.Napoleon wrote:I've read many quotes from this book...I've seen it in the bookstore...You have piqued my interest in this book, is it all written in clear English? This is probably my favorite book ever. I've read it several times, and watched the show.

Sun Tzu: Bing Fa or Sun Tzu's The Art of War (Art War if you want a transliteration) was written in ancient China.Sir Zeppelin wrote:The Art of War is a piece of text written by Sun Tzu in the 6th century B.C. in Asia. The text was written in ancient Chinese script used around the time of the Zhou Dynasty, prior to China's formation when the Chin (or Qin, being the alternate pinyin spelling) conquered the six other warring states and gave the country the name we call it today.
