Picture Request: Windsor Castle

Postby Dragon Master » Mon Sep 06, 2004 3:55 pm

Hey Guys,

I'm in the planning and purchasing stages of making a Round Keep and a castle to accompany it. The only castle that I can base it on has to be Windsor (please tell me of other round keeps if you know them).

But I've only been able to find pics of the keep from far away like this one:

What I am really looking for is an aerial shot. I really want to see how the turret attaches to the keep.

So please gimme a pic or a resource thanks!

Typical examples of round keeps are:

Restormel Castle

Casttillo de Bellver - Mallorca

Queenborough Castle

Clifford,s Tower - York (Not really round but four
semicircles)

Pembroke Castle.

And there are many more, of course.

Turrets are mostly placed on the (very thick) outer walls or on a crossing of the outer- and a internal wall. It depends on the dimensions of the turret and these walls. Or they are beared by corbels 8)

Thanks for showing me that.

But the Turret that I'm looking at is attached to the keep as seen in this pic:

I'm looking for things like that, only larger.
