Ehrenbreitstein castle

Post by bannear »

I was wondering if any of you castle going folks have been to Ehrenbreitstein castle:
http://www.festungehrenbreitstein.de/
It is at the Junction of the Rhine and the Mosel Rivers in Koblenz, Germany.
I went there when backpacking tthrough Europe in the 80's and we climbed thru the old towers and tunnels. I hear they have refurbished it and wanted to see if I could consider building it with Lego. It is a pretty cool castle and has a Youth hostel in it, where you can stay for cheap - or at leat could :)
I am trying to find a map or layout of the castle.
Probably need a few hundred Burps and lurps to build the ridge!
Any sites, maps, scans, etc. would be appreciated
Cheers,

I have been there, too, back in 1998. They were doing some work, but I don't know or remember exactly what was going on. Beautiful place and perfectly defensible. I only have a few pictures, and those didn't really turn out well, wish I had my digital then.
