The pics come from "Castles & Fortresses" by Robin S. Oggins.
The sketch pic & info come from "The Medieval Fortress" by J. F. Kaufmann & H. W. Kaufmann.

Both are very good books which I recommend!

Very nice. What book are the Almodovar Del Rio pictures from? And when was that castle made? Anyway, thanks for the info. One day I'll have enough bricks to attempt something like that.

The Almodovar pics are from the first book "Castles & Fortresses".
The first construction on the castle began in the 700's or later by the Moors. The castle is somewhere in Spain.
I chose to post pics of that castle because it was so unique looking. The battlements are very cool & it fits into the land scape real well.
Definitely a castle I would love to see done as a Moc.

Your right - that is VERY cool... that would be an amazing MOC too... come to think of it... I don't recall seeing a lot of MOCs with layered defenses and what not... :?:
Knight Templar

1.A member of an order of knights founded about 1118 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade.
