That's news to me. Are you sure about that?

Thats purely fantasy. They had no idea what a cannon was, and while some did know how to make steampowered engines, they were never used, not even produced to start with. There is no historical record of this.

Yeah, as far as I'm told, europe got their first gun powder from the east (I don't know if it's the middle or far east :) ) during the crusades. If Aristotle had a cannon, he would have conquered Rome :D

As far as I know gunpowder was invented in China but it wasn´t used as much there as it was used in Europe when they got hold of it. But I know that some sorts of rare guns and "cannons" were used by ninja in Japan. They were very primitive though, hollowed out tree trunks or bamboo.

no no no no. the cannon ball was shot using steam. the pressure in the cannon built up and fired a ball. there was no gunpowder involved at all. I saw an entire show about it and other weapons on the history channel.

I have never heard of steam powered cannons in my life.

I've seen pirates lighting a fuse to fire their cannon. Gunpower being loaded into the cannon...how is there steam involved? Is this some sort of wacky expirement some dude tried?
