cuirass, how to pronounce?
Any ideas, the dictionary.com thing didn't help. Could someone spell how it sounds.
"I have looked for you. Now you have come to me. And I thank you." -Pope John Paul II
According to m-w.com, it is kwi-ras or kyu-ras, which would be like "cure-as s"

Lenny is correct. Cure-"donkey" is the proper pronunciation.

I would say you're adding at least one extra syllabel into the word, I mean, where would "ri" come from? It is "cuirass," not cuirea ss.JPinoy wrote:I always pronounced it "key-yu-ri-as"

Kwi-ras or kyu-ras. The "r" should be part of the "-a-s-s". Those suggesting more than two syllables are incorrect. Those suggesting the "r" is part of the first syllable are incorrect.
Edit in: The auto-censor is working a little toooooo hard.
