From the trailer, it looks interesting.

I saw the trailer a while ago, it looks very interesting and I'll tell you right now I will see it at least once, if for no other reason than to view the cinematography and such. I'm also interested in how these all fit together, especially with the castle era part.

I watched this movie and well... yea...

How do I say this? Hmmm... ok, well when the credits finally hit there was about 30 of us in a stadium style theater, I yelled out "OMG IT FINALLY ENDED!!!" and everyone started laughing and cheering. I think that was the high point of that movie going experience for everyone. The movie although visually stunning (and I heard there was no use of CGI) wasn't very interesting to say the least. It's about a husband and his wife, and 2 stories that are metaphoric about what he is going through. Lots of flashbacks and fade aways. If you think this is a movie about Spanish Conquest and the Inquistion, you've been misled.

Does it even have a fountain of youth?

We've had quite a few half-hearted, poorly done attempts at epic, historical movies (Alexander comes to mind) since LOTR and from what MaxiVisVires said, this sounds no different.

Yikes... thanks for the warning... I would have been tempted to see this one.

Uh... it hints at it... but really it's the Tree of Life. That whole scene gave me (dare I say it) "the jibblies".
