Darn! nobody is replying. Let me ask a different question:

Is there ANYTHING that anyone would like from Series 8 that they'd be willing to trade their sealed Spartan for?

OR

Would anyone be willing to trade a sealed Spartan for BOTH an Evil Knight AND a Conquistador?

Spartans are probably the most sought-after CM figure in the line. They still hold an incredibly high resale value. I honestly think you're going to need to peddle A LOT more than 2 figures for 1 Spartan.

Trust me it's frustrating. My hunt for Romans has come to a schreeching halt, just because I can't justify spending $10.00 per minifigure and there's not much people want to trade for them.

so why the heck didn't people vote for spartans when lego was sending out that survey to release a CM 3 pack?

How did the freakin' elf beat the spartan out???

Not sure exactly which survey you mean, there are so many. But I'm sure Lego wouldn't release exactly the same the fig in another series. Spartans were already out. Elves were not.

It looks like you should expect to pay between 10 and 15 USD for them in any significant quantity on Bricklink (there are a few cheaper but not many). I would be surprised if you found any for much cheaper than that in a trade from anyone.

For instance, I have a handful of Spartans and there is no sane amount of series 8 figs I would trade take in trade. Now if you were talking about trading a few elves for a spartan...that would be another story. ;)

Definitely agree with this. I've got 31 Spartans- and you could send me cases of CM8 and I'd refuse. Although, start throwing Romans at me and we'll talk.

It's pretty much like Josh and Rory have said: You're trying to offer what is very available and easily accessible for something that is not. Very much not.

I have many Spartans (a few I'm willing to give up as mentioned in my needs-to-be-updated trade thread), but none for Series 8 minifigures. And, I would think that is the case with many people who have viewed your offer, which is why there weren't many replies.

Okay, how about a spartan for a Hobbit sealed Mirkwood Elf polybag?

Okay it's worth a try:

I've got a Series 10 Roman Commander (SEALED) that I'm willing to part with for a Spartan. Someone's gotta be interested. Lemme know please!

I'm sorry to say this, but you're hope is ill found

No one is going to trade 1 Spartan for 1 Roman Commander. It's just not a smart trade at all. As others have mentioned the past months, Spartans are expensive, and very rare.

If I had a Spartan, which I don't, I wouldn't trade it for 10 Series 10 Romans. :?

Outside of a Series 1 Zombie or a Queen Amidala, I cannot think of a single one-for-one minifigure trade that I'd consider for a Spartan.

You can very likely get a trade, as people do have Spartans, you're just going to have to offer more than one of the things you've been trying to offer.

Pffft. I'd do that trade. That torso is too beast. :tasty:

Gentlemen,

May I please direct you to the top of this forum and the rules about posting here. Comments are to ONLY be posted about the trade, not conversation, and definitely not comments that could be taken in an offensive manner. I do not want to have to lock trade/sale threads because the members can not follow the rules.

Thank you.

Darn, that's what I figured.

Okay, would the community be so kind as to provide a realistic list of things they'd be willing to trade for 1 sealed spartan, and I'll see what i can do.

They sell around $12-$15 USD. I would outright sell you one, if you wanted to go that route. If so, send me a private message.

If you're looking to trade someone, though, you need to make it worth their while. You have to realize that Spartans aren't something anyone can just come by anymore. So, you have to offer something equally as rare or more (some people really treasure Spartans) to give them incentive to giving one up.

If you're offering something that isn't as rare and is still fairly available, you need to offer more than what an equal amount trade would be to compensate for the rarity of the Spartan. That refers to your initial Series 7 & 8 offers, as well as the Series 10 Roman Commander offer. All of those can be easily acquired still. If the Spartan's value equates to 5 Roman Commanders, you need to offer 8. This is just an example, and of my own personal opinion, but given some of the responses here, I doubt it is far off from others who may very likely request more to consider that trade.

For me, I'd consider 4-8 Castle minifigs (Black Falcons, Crownies, Kingsdoms, etc.), 2 Series 6 Roman Soldiers, a Series 3 Elf and Series 6 Roman Soldier, to name just a few, for a trade of one of my Spartans.

Everyone is different, but I've told you what Spartans are generally selling for. You can now gauge your offers against that, and consider what it is you're also offering. (i.e., "Does what I want and what I'm offering come close to the same value?"; "Can they [prospective trade partner] still get this from a nearby store or only me?")

Hope this helps with your next possible updated offer.
