Question: altBricks and international shipping costs.

Greetings, members of CC,
I just decided to order some plants from AltBricks.com, but the shipping cost made me reconsider. The thing is that the cheapest estimated shipping for my address in Denmark appears to be $12.75 for a $5 order, though with a "varies by destination" mark. So my question for you is, have any non-Americans here bought something from aB, and if so, was the shipping indeed this expensive? I've made larger orders from multiple other American custom houses with shipping at ~$4, which is what I hope the "varies by destination" hides as well.
Alternately, do you know of any other vendors (websites, Bricklink stores et cetera) that sell aB as well?
Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind that US Post Office rates just saw price increases across the board, so that might be part of the reason for the high shipping cost. He also might be putting that $12.75 out there just so nobody is surprised by the high cost of international shipping. The best idea may be to contact the store directly to get a rough shipping estimate.

AK is right. US Postal rates just skyrocketed, especially international for us. This happened at the end of January. And they are really large increases. I don't know how AltBricks is shipping. Here is a shipping calculator from the USPS. http://postcalc.usps.com/

Thanks for the information, that explains things. We have regular increases in shipping expenses here as well, but nowhere near this apparant multiplication. Oh well, looks like I'll have to wait for a European reseller to show up.
