Mail from FM Designs (Extreme Customs)

Post by Umgarla »

I found this in my mailbox today:
Bricklink user,

As a new business, we at FM Designs (soon to be Extreme Customs) are asking for a small donation from the Bricklink Family to keep the Custom LEGO shop open and running. We are planning on upgrading our staff, making orders quicker and faster, and also updating our website with new custom products. In order to do this, we need a specific amount of funds, which cannot be possible without the help of others. All we ask, is that you send a minimum of $.50 through paypal to: products@fmdesigns.tk

In no way are we trying to force anyone in to donating money that they don't want to donate, we are just looking for a little bit of help.

Thank you very much for your time, and your possible donation!

Has anyone else of you who use Bricklink gotten anything similar? Furthermore, does anyone know anything about this company?

I got it and I cannot decide if I am going to complain. It feels like SPAM and made me angry that they were asking for "donations" to keep a private business afloat (if that is even true.)

This has to be some kind of violation of the TOS for Bricklink. I would suggest that anyone who gets this little piece of spam make a complaint.

If you want to send off donations willy nilly, send them to me.

Yeah, I got that too, and deleted it. I really hope I don't get more crap from them.

I got that mail too.... I thought us sellers paid for our service thru minimal service fees and the like. It seems if they needed donations they would have rasied fees a bit. Either way I just let slip into read mail to be cleaned up later.
