Various Questions...
Umm... I'm sorry if this question has been asked before and that I'm just wasting space, but what exactly is a money order? Please space any details that you can... Thank you.

No trouble at all...
A money order is basically like a check. You can obtain them (usually for a small fee) at banks, post offices, and sometimes supermarkets/department stores.
Say you made an order for 22.50 All you need to do is go to a place the issues money orders, give them the cash, and you will receive the MO for that exact amount. Mail it off, and your payment is done. It's pretty convenient - I use it most of the time whenever I order Lego - or any other online purchace for that matter...
Hmm - 666 posts now. That just feels - odd.

Depending on what bank you go to, you may not want to obtain a money order from the bank. My bank, First Merit, charges 5 dollars for a money order. Discount Drug Mart, on the other hand, charges 29 cents. K-mart and Tops also do money orders, so if you have any of those stores in your area, maybe that'll help out.

I'm not entirely sure about MOs from banks, not only because of the charges, but where you can cash them. I am not aware of any limits, but there may be some.
United States Postal Service money orders, on the other hand, once endorsed, are just as good as cash at any bank or post office. They run less than $1, but certainly not as cheap as 29 cents.
The whole reason to use money orders as opposed to cash or checks, is that a money order is a secure form of payment like a check - only the person it is made out to can cash it. But unlike a check, the money is more guananteed and instantly available, like cash.

Paypal is good when you want to pay instantly, which speeds up the whole process. There is a very small possibility of identity theft in this case, however. Somebody hacked into my mom's account a few years ago and spent about 100 dollars of her money. She managed to get all the money back, but it might be something you want to keep in mind anyway.DarkDotDotDotMan wrote:Oh... I see. Thank you for expaining this.
Sorry, but I happen to have a few more questions. Like, what's the advantages of Paypal over over forms of payment like money orders and checks?
And vice-versa as well.
Sorry for the wasted space....

I think Ebay slightly deals with this in their "safe harbour" section.
Paypal and Money orders are much preferred over straight cash.
Western Union is also helpfull. If the vendor accepts credit, that is
the best situation since if the vendor is a fraud, then you can in most
cases contact them for fraud.
Money orders, if they get lost in the mail can be redeemed if you have the
receipt portion, but doesn't help if the vendor is a con.
Unfortunately, most overseas transactions, you can't use domestic
(US bank or postal) money orders. The vendors usually want cash or
else try to charge a high additional fee to cash your money order.
When I have to send a payment overseas for my lego purchases, I
try and use paypal. If the vendor doesn't use Paypal, then I use
Western Union. Its quite pricey, but its very reliable and fast.
Thought I'd post this additional information.
Thanks, Ben M.

yes just on a side note, i sent a 12 dollar money order to Fry slayer, and he would have had to spend an additional 10.00 of his own just to cash it.medib wrote: Unfortunately, most overseas transactions, you can't use domestic

I ended up sending parts to him in trade instead.
