Cool, you don't see him very often.

All that for a single dollar? That price is gonna be in double or even triple digits soon. The pitchfork is pretty valuable and at a price like that... That seller most not know what he's dealing with in his hands...

I checked the seller's other auctions, and he/she knows what's on offer. The presentation of each set of figs is designed to maximize interest and response. With 3+ days to go, the price will certainly jump, as you've said.

I'm curious, is the cape the only truly unique part on the blacksmith? What colour is the cape? Brown? (I'm about 10% colourblind, so the red/green/brown transition is a particular challenge for me).

Darn, I'd like to get him too. He's the only part I'm missing to complete that set.

The cape is brown, and unique to this fig. That's why he's so valued. (I should know, I have him 8) )

He's a decent fig, but I, for one, prefer non-classic-smiley figs myself. *ducks*

Anyway, it's an interesting auction. I bet it will go for at least $10.

Yeah, yeah, rub it in. :) Actually, I have never gotten that cape. I have the rest of him, but not the dang cape! And I think this will go closer to $20. Ten would be a steal.

Hmmm, I have a number of brown plastic capes floating about, but I don't recall ever getting the actual fig.

Wow... I never knew the blacksmith was such a valuable fig... I thought you could just cobble one together... A black cowel, a brown cape, yellow torso (don't worry about a print since it's covered by the cape, and black pants... no? I've had him for years... he is one of my favorite old-time figs. I guess now I that I know how unique he is I can start bragging about it. (kiddinnngggg!) 8)

8) There's nothing wrong with bragging...let's brag together!

Yes, the blacksmith could be cobbled together really easily, except for that uber-rare brown cape. If he just had a black cape, he'd be a very common (and probably less wanted) fig.

Hello!

If I bought a Blacksmith Shop 6040 from you and found the smith to have a printed torso I'd seriously sue you :-)

No, seriously seriously I wouldn't. However, the unprinted yellow torso of the old type is quite rare as it only appears in 6040 and in the original Black Seas Barracuda 6285. Nowadays there are some sources (including the re-released BSB) for an unprinted yellow torso of the new type. You know, though, for a complete and original set the type of the torso matters....
