New KK2 Sets Available on Amazon.com

Post by Count Blockula »

I wasn't sure if these had been spotted yet or not, but just in case:

8873: Fireball Catapult
8874: Battle Wagon
8875: King's Siege Tower
8887: Vladek's Dark Fortress
Castles are kinda' like big, non-electrical stone spaceships that don't fly. Plus, you can stick your head out the window and breathe, and your eyeballs won't explode.

I'm somewhat dissapointed at the price of Vladek's Dark Fortress. And it would be nice to have pictures.... But I probably whine too much, so I'll leave that to everyone else... for now.... :)

These aren't on lego.com yet. Am I missing something?

Won't ship til July 1st. That's why they aren't on the LEGO website. Good to know an estimated date they'll be out though.

The four I posted ARE available for purchase and will ship now if ordered. The fifth one, which says, "This item will be released on July 1, 2005. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives" is the only one you can't get currently. It's actually been up on their site for several weeks now, but just available for pre-order. The four I posted just popped up within the last day or so. (Actually, I think one of those four were added to their site the same time as that fifth one weeks ago, and both were marked with the July 1st ship date. I can't remember which of the four it was, or why it's now shipping and not the other. But, with the addition of three more which have gone right to immediate shipping, they must have just updated one of those two. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cage started shipping soon, before July 1.)

Amazon.com has been doing this a lot lately. They've been posting a lot of new LEGO sets to their site an putting them up for sale way before their official LEGO release dates. For instance, I bought all four Thomas the Tank Engine sets, The Wild Hunters and Ocean Odyssey designer sets, and the Large Dump Truck construction set weeks ago (not just pre-orders, I have them in my home), and they're still not on Shop@Home.

Just because they aren't on LEGO.com doesn't mean much. For example, when I search for 4883 Gear Grinders on S@H, it's listed as "Item is not available in this country" (Canada). However, I've personally seen that set on the shelves at TRU! You'd expect the supplier to have it in stock before the retail stores do, right...?

In response to what appears to be box pictures...?.??..????......!...!?!?

In response to a horse that has a mechanical arm that throws rocks, or a catapult attached to a horse. Well lego seems to be playing a very funny game. The game seems to simply be the first creator to make the most unrealistic and ridiculous catapult design imaginable. Well LEGO...we're all laughing...we are all laughing...

All jokes aside, however, I am actually dissapointed (did not expect much in the form of good catapult ideas in the first place, thus there is no room for disappointment) that the armor designs have suddenly changed. I became interested in the kk2 line. I made investments in some of its knights, and now...hmmm...

The new triangular shields are cool. I personally like the new armor, also. The gold designs make them look more like runes than the first KK2 armor.
I don't like the horse catapults, though. Just when you think Lego is unpredictable enough....

This may be a weird question, but if the site from the original post has no pictures, is it reliable? There not just sitting around thinking yea ahm...ahahaha we'll take your money(sorry bad internet shopping experiences, not lego.com though, I can trust them).

P.S. It appears, with the release of these new sets, that there will be an age of shadow knights/warriors. Hmmm...this threat will need to be dealt with by opposing force.

:D It's Amazon.com. Like I mentioned, about a month or so ago I spotted the four Thomas the Tank Engine sets, two new Designer sets, and a City construction set listed on Amazon. Like these KK2 sets, they didn't have images yet. But, I ordered them, and a few days later, I got them all.

This seems to be the way Amazon has been adding new LEGO sets to their site recently. They make the pages (putting them way too early, well before the official release dates), then the images show up later on. Often, the sets don't show up in the regular LEGO section -- you have to do keyword searches to find them. My guess is that they add the pages to the site, figuring people won't know they're there, and just add the images whenever they get around to it. Like, for example, now, the Thomas sets all have images.

Just picked up my own copies...Turns out Amazon isn't immune to typing errors. You see, if you search for Knight's Kingdom, you won't find Knitghts' Kingdom Battle Wagon. :D
