Hmmm, I wonder if they are still monkeying with that because when I looked at a couple of pics this morning the description and comments were visible without my having to click anywhere.

That's why I just comment on mocs straight from the homepage. I think you're still able to edit there... that way I don't have to bother wading through the complicated mess Flickr has become. Ugh.

Seems to me that they changed Flickr back to some of its good old settings. Comments are now at the bottom and you can see and add notes to pictures! So happy they took some advice. The comments are even in the right order now! Hope they keep it like this or even better yet change it back to the original version.

I'm hoping that this is a result of yesterday's "Black Day" on flickr. If they keep it like this, I will be extremely happy. I was getting really tired of using the French version.

Yeah what was that whole black friday thing? It wasn't even friday, so I am so confused. I found a way to go back to the original months ago, so I don't even know what the new setup looks like lol.

It wasn't "Black Friday" it was just "Black Day". Many of us did not have any way to opt out of the new format, so we protested by posting a black image yesterday. It looks like it worked, because today for the first time in a month I was switched back to the old version.

There are tons of places you can find out details about all of the changes, but for me, the two biggest things were not being able to add notes and that the comments were moved over to a sidebar where you could only read a few at a time.

I encountered the same thing, it's hideous. I fortunately found the "go back to the normal version" button. Hopefully the "black day" protest will prevent them from permanently implementing it.

I have a question. I don't hang out at Flickr, just post my photos and go. So I don't know the trick to fixing this issue. I went to look at a group's photos and basically they blink on my screen and disappear. Does anyone have a way around that issue?

That's odd, I've never seen that happen. What link were you going to? Are you logged in, or just viewing as a guest? Are you a member of the group?

Yes logged in. Yes a member of the group. Yes it is happening with even the CC Flickr group. Using Firefox, but I guess I should/could try it with the other browsers.

It is highly frustrating because I can only see the discussions. The pictures flicker for one moment then disappear. Guess I should be thinking it is appropriate since flicker and flickr...oh the lack of funny of that joke.

It's working for me both on Firefox and on Chrome. Try logging out/loggin in, clearing cache, rebooting, etc?

Some people on Flickr have been giving a new layout to test. I have it, and it's pretty nice. The bar at the top of the main screen is still on the screen when you view a picture, and that picture screen is more like the one from the previous update that was released a year ago. Notes aren't yet back, though.

Yes I have to say it's a lot better than the previous 'all black' version. I only seem to see changes when viewing someones personal photostream, so at the moment it seems to jump between styles a bit. I'd like to see the 'Groups' page given a bit of a makeover.

I just got the new update Ieuan and Andhe have been talking about, and it is actually a big improvement! Of course, at this point anything would be an improvement to the horrid current (Or for me, previous) version.

UGH! I never got upset when all of the rest of you did because I didn't seem to be getting the issues you all were having, but now I am getting nonstop "Take me to the panda"... and have for 5 days. Which REALLY sucks when you are running contests for two different websites at the same time and you can't see any of the photos or comments to address them. So my excuse my rant...but I REALLY don't want to see the panda anymore...and if they are going to show me a panda, why can't they show me a real panda that is actually cute, not this whatever the heck it is. GRR!
