Folder not yet public

Post by kajo163 »

Okay, It's a rather stupid question but here goes:

I just uploaded som pic to my shiney new BS-acount

Now what happens? Do I have to do something to make the thing public or will it do by itself?

Just wait a while. I don't have anything on BS yet, but I think you have to wait for a moderator to look at what you've uploaded. They basically check to make sure the content is appropriate before making your folder public.

Rogue27 has it right, sometimes moderation happens in a few hours, sometimes a whole day or longer. Be patient, you will have a public folder soon enough.

After a long absence, I have returned. I can't wait to start building again.

Thanks guys!
I was just down town for half an hour, and I see that the folder's gone public in the mean time.

I'll put a post over at MOC's soon!

Just starting to learn this whole publishing-stuff.
Thanks again for helping':D:'

Hey Joel,

Cool. I was just trying to figure out who built that. I'll comment over in MOCs, but figured I'd address the publishing issue here. When you post to Brickshelf it can take anywhere from five minutes to a day to get moderated. This happened because some punk posted porn pics about a year ago, and Kevin wanted to avoid having any sort of repeat. Since you are logged in to your account you will be able to see the contents of unmoderated folders, but these will have a box around them on your screen, which indicates these are not yet public.
If you want to post a link to something not yet moderated, you can "deep-link". When you first click on a pic in your folder it will look like this:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=933226
with the blue border, the Brickshelf logo, etc. Click on the pic again and it will look like this:
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Kajo/ ... rvants.jpg
with just the pic. You can link to this second URL before moderation. This second URL is also the one to use if you have a small image that you want to link to in a post using bbcodes like this:
