Brickshelf counters

On brickshelf, there is a number at the bottom of the screen what you look at a gallery or an image. Does that number show the amount of times the photo or gallery was viewed?

Uh, yeas.

Well in the gallery it shows how many have seen the gallery and in the picthingie before the deepling these is how many that have seen the pic.

I think that explains it pretty well.

Anyone know if the gallery counts another hit if the viewer goes back after viewing a pic? Or is the gallery count a tally of each distinct/session gallery hits. Know what I mean? Just curious.

I believe it only counts as a hit when the image or page is first viewed. Once the image is in the temp file on your computer it is read from there when you go back to a page. You can not refresh a page tons of times to increase views.

No, and I can't imagine a person who would spend his free time doing this. I was just interested, because my folder has a rate of 119, which is quite high. So, I was wondering if it is due me, every time I log on and look at it or upload more pictures.

No. Not at all. Like I said, I was just curious. And refreshing a gallery to increase "views" wasn't what I was asking. I was just wondering how the gallery counted individual views. Does looking at 3 pics in a gallery count as 4 gallery views if you hit 'back' each time? Sounds like it would only count as one gallery view. That's good since it gives you an accurate count of your gallery views. Why would I want to inflate my gallery views? Who am I... Luis? Gordon?
