Yes, I think of Jojo as that little Black Falcon guy - I suppose it only natural for everyone to think of me only as "TTK" and that sardonic smirking Johnny Thundar face in Little Armory armor as what I look like.
For those that don't pay attention, here's the real me LEGOized and pasted in from one of my fits of fancy that appeared for a week or so previously (I can't be the only who has done this, can I?):
The Van Dyke is a more recent addition in the last couple of years, so I tend to still think of myself in just the terms of the mustache (but note the van Dyke beard peeping out from under the Viking avatar - the new Viking has that same sort of smirk).
If you have a strong stomach, here's the photo delibrately high-contrasted that I used - yes, I was delibrately making a face for a drawing of a pirate I was doing, either that I just saw the prices at the gas pumps.
So, let me sign as I usually do on Lugnet, just to show why I often refer to Bruce N H as The Other Bruce...

Darn that Nate! I was going to use a HP face for my sigfig (I have been told I look like him) but he had it first. I'm trying to think of a new way do do glasses.
Yeah, I hate it when an avatar changes (though I change mine frequently) because I can't recognise them. Heh...

Bruce doesn't wear glasses?!?
If someone says their real name on the forums, I tend to call them by name (like Nate, Tony, and Bruce). Same with the pictures; once I saw Nate's picture on his blog, or Tony's picture on Ikros, I immediately registered it in my head and from then on saw them that way. Coincidentally, both Nate and Tony (sorry to pick on you two) look a lot like some of my friends around town, so it's easier to remember. Anyone else experience that phenomenon?
I'm sure most people here probably see me as a family crest or something. So here's me!

Your nuts. Just like most of us.Bruce N H wrote:Again, are others like this, or am I just nuts?
Seriously though, I fully agree with you. The only person on CC who I think of in non-avatar terms is Formendacil, and thats only because we live in the same house. I will admit that Nathan, Jojo, Sava and one or two others are the only guys I have seen pics of, but that doesn't really change much. Nathan is a Harry Potter face in my mind. And Jojo is a Falcon soldier, thats just the truth. There's no way on the planet that Jojo could not be a falcon. For that matter, Jojo is his real name. These are simple truths, the same as the one that says the sun rises every morning.

Hmm, I've always just assumed that you had a multiple personality disorder and your avatar was reflecting the various aspects of your character. The Hordesman wrote:I wonder who people take me for when writing responses and the like, the blue or the red guy...

This is too funny! I picture people as their avatars when their avatars are minifigs. The rest I associate their post "type" and opinions by their avatar as I'm reading posts. It's very helpful if I know something of the background of the poster. Really screws me up when they change their avatar.
When I was deciding on figs for my museum, the first one I placed was "Bruce" at the ticket window. It was a no-brainer to me. And while Nate is Harry Potter, don't forget that for awhile there he was Gollum.
And whenever I see "swordfish's" signature,
I wonder why Troy is chasing those guys. Anyone else?
I think I'm going to change my avatar to a minifig. Now to figure out which one...

Don't tell me you all think of me as a green-faced lunatic...?
(Actually, that would be kind of cool... I'm not going to show you my real pic then... )

ALL YOUR HARRY POTTER HEADS ARE BELONG TO ME!psu_ericksen wrote:And while Nate is Harry Potter, don't forget that for awhile there he was Gollum.
What an excellent thread. I'm like Dunechaser. I've never met any of you guys in "real" life, though I plan to do so next Brickfest.
I'm also like Mike (Formendacil). It depends on how much I know the person to determine how I invision them. For Tony, I see and think of his as "human Tony". For Mike, I don't know what he looks like...but I still have some sort of generic mental image...
Then there are those who I see as minifigs, like Bruce, Jojo and Dunechaser.
Then there are those who I know the names of, like Enigma, but I have no image to associate them with. You people with shields as avaters need to get your act together!
I try to create my sigfigs to look as much like me as possible. Actually, funnily enough, my current avatar (embedded below) looks more like me than the original Harry Potter head.
However, the original Harry Potter head is firmly ingrained in my head (and half of CC, it seems) as "my" head.
Hmm...time to write another "essay post" in that avatar thread...
