So you wanna be a star? EDIT: Teaser Poster

Post by Lord_Of_The_LEGO »

I've basically finished the script for my next film, which right now is unnamed, but is CSI-themed. I need a lot of voices. For the CSI team, I would like to have voices very similar to the characters in the original TV show. Anything really goes for the other characters, within reason. Please note the script might get altered in the future, so I might have to ask you to record additional lines.

Dr. Augustus Wilson The main character. Plenty of lines. -- Shale (from Brickfilms.com)

Dr. Matthew Myers Dr. Wilson's friend. Plenty of lines. -- JCool

Inspector Bill Gristle Parody of Gil Grissom. Plenty of lines. -- Lord Of The LEGO

LLPD Capt. John Copper Parody of LVPD Capt. Jim Brass. Moderate amount of lines. -- High Tower (from Brickfilms.com)

Dr. Robin Allens Parody of Dr. Al Robbins. Moderate amount of lines. -- High Tower (from Brickfilms.com)

Radio Reporter / Commercial Narrator Just your usual DJ/Narrator voice. Three lines, but all of them very long. -- An Old Ore (from Brickfilms.com)

Davis Drake Parody of Warrick Brown. Small amount of lines. -- Sir Nelson

Karen Woodson Parody of Catherine Willows. Small amount of lines. -- My sister

Rick Strokes Parody of Nick Stokes. Small amount of lines. -- Captain Bulldog (from Brickfilms.com)

Shanna Saddle Parody of Sara Sidle. Small amount of lines. -- Sparks Flying (from Brickfilms.com)

Alexander “Sandy” McGregor Parody of Greg Sanders. Small amount of lines. -- Enigma

Madeline Myers Wife of Dr. Myers. Small amount of lines. -- Sparks Flying (from Brickfilms.com)

Catie MacDougal Dr. Wilson's lab assistant. Small amount of lines.-- TrishoHara

Starbricks Waitress One short line. -- My sister

Red=the testline has not yet been completed.
Yellow=the testline has been completed and I am awaiting the lines.
Green=both the testline and all the lines have been completed.

If anyone is interested please send me a PM or reply to this thread and I will send you a testline.

I know the brickfilming community is terribly short on female members, but unless you can appropiately modify your voice for different characters, I would like to have a seperate voice actress for the three female characters. Since the Waitress is minor, she can be voiced by anyone who does the other three female characters. And no, I don't want any males attempting to sound female for the female roles.

I will not accept "kiddie" voice actors or bad-sounding recordings. I want good, mature voice actors. I want this project to be the best it can be.

Thanks!

This sounds pretty cool. I'll do some lines for you. I have done brickfilms before (<shamless plug>The Adventures of Diavo and Joe</shameless plug>) plus i'm an "adult" voice actor (23 years old, male).

Well, first I'd need to watch CSI, get a microphone, and wait three years (how old is mature?), but I can't wait to see how this turns out. I've been reading the One Brick Studios updates, and it looks like you've put in a lot of work (15 pages!?!).

Oh, and shouldn't this be in publishing...?

That's cool. I'm downloading your film right now. I'll PM you a test line.

Note that a knowledge of CSI isn't strictly needed. Two of the main characters aren't related to the show, and they don't have to mimick some othe character, so you could try out for those. Maybe I need to clear up "mature." For mature, I don't mean you have to be 18, or whatever, it's just that your voice has to be appropiately deep enough. I don't want any "kiddie" voices. If you can fake a deep voice well, that's fine. Want me to send you a test line?

He's right, Nathan...

This deals with the creation, not of a LEGO MOC, but of a different media, in which you are presenting a LEGO creation.

Ergo, it goes in Publishing.

Moving.

I'll try. I've got a voice, and could fit any male part you need. My last name is Drake, so I guess I wouldn't have much trouble playing Davis Drake if you want.

Sorry about the double-post. Alright, please see my original post. I've reviewed the testlines I've recieved so far and have assigned you all a character. If for any reason you'd like to change, please let me know. All of the samples I got were really good. I'll be sending out your lines shortly.

Everyone else, there's still plenty of positions available, including all of the female roles.

Thanks again!

Hehe, I like my character's name. 8) I don't know who he's a parody of, but this should really be fun!

Due to some complications, I will not be able to be a voice. You can assign it to someone else if you like ;)
