Dunechaser's Blocklog is The Brothers Brick!

Hi all,

I know some of you have already seen this in my blog post this morning, but for those who haven't, I wanted to announce that our very own Josh Wedin has joined Dunechaser's Blocklog as a contributor. Hurray!

Well, many of you may say, "It's no longer just Dunechaser's blog, is it?" and you'd be right! But "Blocklog" is pretty boring, and also wrong. (My excuse is that I grew up in Japan, and all of my friends -- just like AFOLs there now -- called LEGO bricks "LEGO blocks.)

So, I'd like to offer a prize of some sort, to be determined at a later date (since I just thought of this as I was typing this post), to whoever can come up with the best alternative to "Dunechaser's Blocklog." I'd like to relaunch fairly quickly (I'm not liking the plain "Blocklog" with the boring green banner that's up there now), so let's say ... until next Monday at midnight, Pacific Standard Time (GMT minus eight).

Okay namers, go! :D

Edit: And some fine print. Sorry TFOLs, I'm gonna have to restrict this to AFOLs. I appreciate that many of you read my blog and post comments frequently (you're probably some of my -- our -- best readers), and for that you have my deepest appreciation. Unfortunately, I don't feel like dealing with parental permission to get your home address, should we choose your idea. Sorry. :(

I wondered why "Dunechaser's" was gone from my bloglines list. It took me a bit to figure out that "Blocklog" was the same crunchy goodness. So you need same name ideas? Here are some to roll around in your head.

Brickchaser (my favorite and currently available on blogger)

Blockchaser

Brickabrack (I think it means "odds and ends")

Brickommunity
Blockommunity
Bricks & Blocks
Brickhunt
Blockhunt

I'll post some more, but these all came to mind as I read your post. Happy hunting!

Bric-a brac

\Bric"-a brac`\, n. [F.] Miscellaneous curiosities and works of decorative art, considered collectively.

A piece of bric-a-brac, any curious or antique article of virtu, as a piece of antiquated furniture or metal work, or an odd knickknack.

I think Brick-a Brack would work really well.

Thanks for all the great ideas, guys! We have lots of names from forum posts here and comments on the blog, so we'll be tabulating the ideas and announcing our choice sometime soon.

Thanks!!! :)

Hmm, well, I prefer 'Blocklog' myself, but oh well. I guess I'll just have to adjust. On a lighter note, I am glad that Josh gets to blog.
