I had some fun in Painter today:

It's a Lego want-ad idea.

Here's a large shot of the character. Excuse my poor proportions, this was a quick illustration without any references.

And a little Bob Ross action going on. My brother said it reminds him of Basketball game fans with rainbow clown wigs on holding up John 3:16 or some other odd banner. Enjoy!

These are really great, Pep! I like the LEGO bills, and the fig is cool too. Hil-hair-ious hair, too (yeah, I know, kinda dumb). I agree that the proportions are a little off, but they're still way better than I could do. I have to start using Painter again, I've been using Photoshop a lot more nowadays.

Yes. I have a first generation Wacom Graphire tablet. About 100 USD and it came with a free version of Painter. I have Painter 8 now, but the free version is more than enough to do great art with.

I'm impressed with what you can do with a Wacom. I'm still struggling to get comfortable with it.

Well, just remember to practice! Actually, it helps that it is digital paint. You can always fix mistakes that way. I rely on simple tools, such as the Sable Tip, pencil (use dark gray instead of black, it improves the pencil lines), and either an airbrush or a just add water blurring tool. That's all I need to create MOST things... there are other techniques such as using pastels to create richer texture while blobbing a figure, THEN going back with airbrushes and pens to refine the edges and details.

New art. This outputted version is a little small...

Nice pics. I have always wanted to try something like this, but when I did, my gut looked more like a monkey than a LEGO minifig  .
