Just some general lego stuff

Post by LEGOFREAK »

and some info about my whereabouts. :) (all pics = links)

recently my life has been going through some significant changes. This has led to my packing up of a large amount of my Lego, so I have been really limiting myself to custom figs. and picking up stuff at yard sales, and thrift stores.

My mom found this bag for ten bucks the other day. I weighed it and it was 25 lbs. most of it is soccer and movie, so I got some neat stuff there. A LOT of harry potter stuff. Maybe some hundred or so minifigs and accesories?
Here are some of the highlights though -
Image Image Now there is one more classic knight around here in perfect condition with the others, but I think he got mixed in with my castle dudes. - I can't believe that they were all in there. I had the visor and helmet for the one classic knight, but that body, axe and armor came in the bag. the armor is missing the back sticker but the front one is in awesome shape.
Image I always wanted one of these.
Image and one of these too!
Image I couldn't believe my luck in finding this!
Image and it even had the CD in there! Unfortunately for
some reason it wouldnt play in my CD drive. :D

and on another topic I got a new tattoo..
Image Image Image
now - you may be saying "gee that artwork looks familiar..." and you'd be right. The original artwork was done by Rayhawk.. Yep that Rayhawk. I figured I would ask him to design a Henry Tattoo - something with "oomph", and the worst he could say was no. However he turned out to be a pretty cool dude (heck I didn't know) and sent this to me right away. - I had to wait awhile to get it done, and I am extremely happy with the results. However you may notice a few spots where the ink didnt take. That's my fault.
see, I had a broken water main the next day after getting it, and I jumped in the muck with shovel and water pump in hand, and managed to get some mud worked into my tattoo. needless to say that the spots that had mud in it got infected (very minor.. I didnt even go to the doctor) and caused my body to reject the ink in those spots. When I have it colored in I will have those lines touched up. - no biggie.
also, when I was at brickfest (Man - I love saying that!) I got to meet Greg Hyland... and told him about my upcoming Henry Tattoo. I asked him if he would be interested in designing a piece, and he said sure. So hopefully soon I will have another one to show off. (I wanted to wait til this was healed before I took pics and all.)

So on that note, I will be taking a leave of absence until my house sells, I move, and I get my stuff straightened out again.

Re: the find - You are a lucky man, my friend! Those figs and sets are really cool, and a steal for such a price!!

Re: the ink (and infection) - Ouch!!! But, that is a dedication to LEGO that only a few AFOLs have. Congratulations on your Brickfest journey, and I hope to see a fully colored version of your "figs" someday! From one CC 'Master Builder' to another.... Awesome!!! 8) Hope to hear from you again here soon!

Hey, Freak, it is great to hear from you! I have been wondering how you were doing.

That is great Lego find...I love hearing about stuff like that. And those 677 guys are my favorite faction. Very cool lot.

The tatoo is cool, can't wait to see it filled in. Quite a good memorial to Henry, since he is still missing (we really need to send out that hit squad Nathan was organizing).

Anyway, it is great to have you back. I hope the situations in your life get taken care of quickly, and with as little pain as possible.

Take care,
Josh

I'm not really sure that Henry needs color, I like the black an grey, and if it was colored it would look like your daughter ate a box of crayons and puked them up on your arm.

Can you tell I'm anti-color?

I have to agree that it actually looks really cool the way it is now (the tatoo)... maybe it would be better without color? It looks really sweet as is...

As for your mother's work... nice! Just those classic figs should cost 10 dollars, and I've been meaning to get the 3-headed dog ever since it came out.

Anyway, good to hear from you... I too have been wonfdering what you've been up to...

-Waves to Freak-

Hey Freak,

Great find! I can never find stuff like that. Also a very cool tatoo. Hmm, a Wolfpack logo would make a very cool tatoo.

Awesome find! I haven't had a deal like that since last summer. The pickens are getting slim in the garage sale sector. It is great news to see that there are deals like this still out there.

Hi Freak,

That is a great classic figure find. Congrats! I am also glad to see that you were able to get the Henry tattoo. Now everyone knows about it. Please post again when it is colored.

Well I can't remember if I posted on this topic over at MCN but I will post here anyways :P . Sweet find on those figs! I can't believe that you found that for just $10. I actually found about 4 classic figs hidden throughout my room that I didn't even know I had  . That tattoo is pretty sweet, although i don't think I would ever get it(for the tattoo part, not the extreme show of your love for the awesomeness we call LEGO). Hope to see Henry colored soon. And I just remembered, did anybody ever find poor Henry? Do we know where he is? -Pac

Awesome tat, Freak. It looks great as is, but I think some color would really make it soar.
