Heavy Water Mill

Post by tbaixinho »

Finnaly i managed to finnished this MOC: Heavy Water Mill. I begun this project back in June, but with work, family and holidays i didn't have the time.

Image

Compose by a waterfall, house with water mill, is encircled with vegetation. This is the first stage of a bigger project. Although to be situated in a medieval/fantasy world, this part has nothing of fantasy and it could be easily adapted for a modern time.

His size is 40 for 64 studs and I don't have the minim the idea of how many parts it has, but with all the certainty it exceeds the thousand. The mill is motorized through a micromotor (5119) and a 9V train speed regulator. The rise technique is GMLTC lattice.

Beyond the vegetation, I tried also to give some prominence to the fauna with some species. We have snakes, rats, owl, spiders and sheeps. For residents of the mill I chose a couple with two children and all have that to participate in the tasks, to provide the necessities at the home.

The details had been thought and tried in various ways, i like particularly of the windows of roof and the bridge, both made by Luis. I also detach the oil lamps, the windows, porch and the vegetation. Luis was a valuable and permanent aid, I am trully thankful, but sometimes i wanted to strangle him ;)
To Pedro Silva all my thanks for the advices.

Very nice!

I'm not quite sure how the waterwheel is put together, but it looks great! Also, you did a fantastic job incorporating the landscaping and foliage.

Oh, I really like that waterfall. I may not have seen too much landscaping with water (now that sounded weird) but this is definitely the best I´ve seen..

The building in itself is very nice as well, and I agree with E about the wheel... looks really good!

And welcome to CC I guess ;)

Oooh..very nice. Good detail and landscaping. Can minifigs stand comfortably on the wheel? The fishing kid with the stick is a good detail.

That's awesome. I like the way that the waterfall is so tall and 3D.

I've always been a big fan of lego water mills (and MOCs with water in general) so this is a real treat! I love the bridge, waterfall, and setting of the whole thing. Great work!

God Bless,

This is very nice. The waterfall is built differently than most, which are usually just blue bricks straight down, and I like it a lot. The building is very nice, the way it's built sort of out of the rock is cool. I like the railing on the porch, I've used a similar idea before myself. The dormer windows are a neat idea, and the tower looks rather comfortable, though cramped. The vegetation is nice to see, and I like your version of sheep. Finally, whatever I haven't mentioned is great too.

Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

Wow, I have to say I'm seriously impressed by the building itself and the land scaping and the, oh, wait, I'm going to do the entire folder! But anyway, really nice (one more thing- I'm loving the motorization that he's going with the waterwheel.)

my two cents,

These are about the exact words that I would use when describing this MOC!

I really like the whole thing, and I hope that we will see more from you in the future!!

Thanks,

Very nicely done!

I like the mix of a small quaint looking building with good landscapping. I like the short waterfall. Athough IMO, if could use some of those rounded brackets or whatever those bricks are called.

This is one of the best buildings of the last months I see! I'm really impressed of your work. The colors fits, the building looks overall very interlocked (I don't know if it is the right word...) and ... It is fine. I like it!

Well guys, thanks a lot for your comments.
I´m felling kind of

I knew that this was a good MOC, but i never expected such good comments.

This is the second Moc I do this year :(
I work, I'm a mother of a two year old baby, I´ve my house to take care off... Sometimes I really don't have the time I want for LEGO building.
Above all I'm married to Luís Baixinho (former LA), and sometimes I feel that
maybe I don't have the same quality he has.
Then again, maybe I do. :D

The same day I finish this MOc, we begun a second phase, you can see a photo here.

I hope to show you new things next month, until then, I'll be around here in CC.
