Thanks,
Do you mean like an all-grey minifig as a giant statue or something? I'm sure that'd be allowed, if it was clear it was a statue.

~smcginnis
Well, I suppose you could do that, but I think it would be more entertaining to have a massive giant attacking a castle with a huge club and the puny micro-figs trying to fight back from the giant with their pitifully small weapons. Muahahahahahahhah ha ha ha ha ha ha heh heh *snicker*...

heh...
Well, that's enough of that, but I think it would be okay if it's easy to see that it's more micro than mini-people race being attacked by a human.

I didn't mean as a giant statue, I ment, well, as people! Not Castle people. I am building a micro scale model of a castle, and having a platform next to it as though it was a huge model castle in a museum. I really like my idea, but I am having issues with the keep...
So that is what I mean. I hope Robin Hood can clear this all up for me.

Thanks,

Sorry for not answering this sooner.

How many entrees are we allowed?
I am sorry if this was already asked, but I couldn't seem to see the question anywhere.

I quote from the rules posted at the start of this thread: 5. You may enter as many entries as you want, but try to go for quality as opposed to quantity.
Hewkiril wrote:And a question: will we get to vote?
No. The judging is done by me and TheOrk.

That depends on their use. If the mini castle appears natural with figs, then by all means enter. I won't really stop anybody from entering with figs on it, but unless there is a reason for the fig, it has very little chance of winning.

Well, no matter the trials, I shall enter. I whipped these up on realization that tommorow is deadline, so my main entry won't make it. In my opinion, I kinda like these three micro-entries.

Behold my Entries!

Entry #1:
Image

The kings imperial army is trained here, but one must be desperate and determined! The bridge up is a mere three mile walk! You then enter and notice but two structures, the huge keep and the "mess hall". This castle hosts up to 1,000 men in total in it's huge keep, and the mess hall includes a stable. Students who gain elite enough status to be near-noble are brought up to the yellow spire where they learn the art of falconing.

More deep pics.

Notice the water lapping against the sides?

The second is a near-snotted up castle.

I kinda like this one for it's smooth appearence, to me it kind off flows nicely.

And the last but not least:
Image
This castle is a desert waypoint, meant to garrison men on long marches, it is located in the desert, but not to far from some water source be it ocean lake or sea. Also placed near some very large hoodoos.

Well, hope you guys liked them. I don't expect a very hgh placing with these, but hey, I'm happy to at least enter at all. :)

It is finally time for me to take pictures of my entry and enter it! Here it is... Griffon Castle ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=212884 ). It is on display in a museum, which accounts for the security guard and guests.

The gallery is public. Here is the link again: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=212884
(Sorry about the bad pics)

Whew... just in time. Unfortunately it had already almost gotten dark when I took the pics so they are quite bad. Sorry

Anyways, finally it is revealed; shrouded by the Mists of magic, the seat of the Autumn Court stands as a giant red fang in the middle of the Outer Sea ;)

Well, here are a couple of entries for the contest:

The first is Aldersmith Abbey, which will be familiar to anyone who read my story The Graven Hawk

Image

The next is a lighthouse I built for fun

And the last one is actually too large (32x48) to qualify for the contest, but I thought this would be a good place to show it off

The pics link you to the respective brickshelf galleries (when public) with more pictures of each one. I hope you enjoy them.

Assuming that the contest is now closed, I'd just like to thank Robin Hood once again for his efficient running of the contest. He answered all of the questions well, and was very conscientious. That said, I have one more question for him. When will we find out the results of the contest?

Well, after a while of being lazy, I have finally managed to get hold of TheOrk and decide the winner.

This winner of the Mini Castle Contest II is: engineerio! with his entry:

Second place (no prize) went to Lonan's abby, and third place (again no prize) went to Mike Viper's desert castle.
