Sounds really intriguing. I look forward to pictures (when you get time and probably in a new thread would be polite).

I will say that if you can make it 8cres compliant that would be fantastic!

Haha!

I also have been working on a Warf building standard, as I also like the idea of a huge long carribean warf. I was going to start writing it up once I got Base8 all finalized. Mine doesn't have anything to do with Base8 or BPB though, it is inspired by and would be an almost direct rip off of Eric Druon's Puerto Brico, just slightly expanded. It would be Base16 and much more modular than Base8 is, something more oriented for building islands. It could probably work just fine with Frank's warf actually, with a few modifications.

For some reason I get the feeling there'll be a Pirates roundtable at PDX07.* :D

*And I couldn't be happier! It has always pained me that pirates don't get half the attention castle and space does, I love pirates!

Hey,

I'm tentatively planning on being there. My wife said its okay, so that probably means it will happen. I will work on some stuff for it and I will make it Base8 compatible and it will involve a cliff of some sort. That's all I know, as I am frantically building for the CCCIV right now.

I'm going to try and make it; it all depends on what shift I end up with at work, and a few other things, since March 31 is the end of one of our use years, and ergo, a higher call volume. Not nearly what it will be in December, though.

At the very least, I intend on expanding my Church. If I can find someone who wishes to watch and care for it, I see no reason why the Church can't attend. :)

It will be the church only, and since I have to redo the damned thing anyway, it will be in the proper standard.

I'll know after the first of the year how I stand.

I think I will be going for sure, so I could take, watch, and care for your church, if you want...

Right now it looks like I will be able to attend, however there may be an issue with a mission trip. I guess if someone would like to include me tentively that would be fine for now.

Well, it looks like I will be able to go to it, because it is on the weekend of my Spring Break. I am looking forward to attending. IT sounds like a lot of fun.

Thanks,

No, you don't need a ton of Lego. In fact, you don't have to bring anything and you definitely will learn new things. I learned a lot at NWBC and am sure that will happen again at BF PDX. I'm sure you won't be the only one who doesn't bring a ton of stuff.

I don't think there are either. The only restraint I noted was that after March 15th they won't be giving out refunds. I've never organized a con but in my experience people prefer it if you register earlier than later so they can get a good idea of how many people will be going. You don't have to pay right away, and after you do pay you still have the option to change your mind up until 2 weeks from when it starts.

General Frostfire:

I look forward to meeting you. The con will be a great load of fun, and definitely all are welcome, from those whose collection consists of a few sets to those with hundreds of thousands of bricks (who me? :-) ).

We will be getting out a more "official" announcement, later, but Thomas Rafert and I will be co-coordinating the castle (and pirate, and other historical) displays. I'm looking forward to besting the NWBC display, so start planning your contribution, large or small.
