So, for those who may have been wondering, this is why the new transparent baseplates from the mosaic sets are awesome:

Very nice. I like the shape of the windows and the crypt below. How did you do the stain glass windows? Did you just set those little 1x1 pieces on top of each other and hope they stayed until you got the top on?

No, I'm guessing he used some new transparent baseplate from the mosaic sets Check out this piece in clear for a sample.
The windows do look very nice!

I just saw this on BS and wondered how you did those windows! Duh!
I love the windows (especially the last pic with the light behind them), but also all the little details, like those caskets and the superd architecture. Nice job all around!

Ah! I thought that might be the case! This is a great little MOC, all the architectural elements work very well, and the "crypts" are awsome. I hope you do well in the contest!

Correct. See this pic.plucky wrote:No, I'm guessing he used some new transparent baseplate from the mosaic sets
A transparent baseplate is something I've wished for for a long time and I was very excited when I first saw the mosaic sets.
That stained glass is incredibly effective! A really nice MOC with some great details in the arches - well done. The crypts look creepy too!

Very cool. This is one of the main reasons I picked up a mosaic set. The baseplates will also be great to put over blue bricks for water.
This window option will not allow as intricate designs as a studs up version, but I really like how thin the windows are. It allows a proper amount of light to go through the window.

What is the mosaic set and how much do they run for? I think I have seen them before.

The windows look great! I like how some of the trans 1x1's are tiles and how some are plates to create variety. My favourite detail has to be the 1x1 slopes upside down here with the the 1x1 plates. It really flows together nicely, I'll have to steal that technique.
Great work!
