At the last Brickfest DC, things wrapped up around 5pm. The LEGO Store manager gave us a bunch of free LEGO, so after the closing ceremonies everyone went down to the LEGO Store and cashed in.

MaxiVisVires - Your angry mob looks great and would be great near one of the towns being ransacked. I agree that we would not want it near the edge of the display. During public hours there should be enough of us around to keep the public mob back!
Well the public hours are over at 4pm Sunday then closing ceremonies should be done by 5pm but if you need to leave right away I'm sure we could help you gather your items at 4pm. Of course if 4 or 5pm Sunday doesn't work then Saturday would be fine. We should keep that in mind when planning the display so not to place your items in the center.

This is a major consideration in my decision of attendance. I would love to be able to provide you all with a more solid "yes" or "no" so any help is welcome!

Alright, I think that if I was to leave around noon Sunday (or even at four, if things work out) that would work. I will double check on that and get back to you pronto! Oops! I'm sorry of course that would work out too. I guess I was just thinking about the public hours and that we wouldn't want to pull anything from the display during that time which is 11am - 4pm on Sunday. So yes your items could be pulled before the public hours.wunztwice wrote:Alright, I think that if I was to leave around noon Sunday (or even at four, if things work out) that would work. Sorry to hear you won't be attending.Prince Imdol wrote:Too, bad. I cannot attend, I hope Brick world will be as good as this.
Well this will be the first year of Brickworld and for the first year of NWBrickCon there wasn't a lot of attendees but it sure was a lot of fun. The cool thing about conventions/fests is what each attendee brings to make it exciting whether that be MOCs, enthusiasm, camaraderie, etc. the convention is what you make it.

Allright, so! I have been talking with Tom and Frank and we have got some ideas rolling, and I'm dying to start planning a layout. But first, these things need to happen:
1. I need email addresses of anyone who would like to contribute to the combined display that did not contribute to the NWBC display (I already have all those people's emails, unless they have changed in which case please notify). Either send me a PM or email me at breadman017 [at] gmail [dot] com. Most further details will be handled via email for Ultimate Secrecy, so this is important. btw, has anybody heard from Bradley (Merlin of Lego) whether he is planning to go?
2. Lets actually use flags this time. I have uploaded all the flag colors used in NWMap to this brickshelf folder: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=229377 Reply with your name and your colors in this thread and I will update this post or start a new one to keep track of who has what. If you don't know how this works, these colors will be used to identify the parts of the display that you'll be contributing in the layout plan (here is the layout plan from NWBC for example). Then fly your flags over any MOCs you have on the display so that MOC cards can be put on the edge of the table with a sticker of your flag instead of scattered across the landscape.
I'll start, blue and yellow for me:
- BreadMan
- Remyth
- Tedward
- Wuntztwice
- Frank Filz (Red/Black in actual display)
- MaxiVisVires (Blue/Black in actual display)
- Darkie
- Thomas (Dark Red/Light Grey in actual display)
- Blue Knight
- J1A3L5 (Dark Red/Blue in actual display)
- Josh Wedin
- Merlin of Lego
- Justin Major (and friends)
- Robin Sather

Sounds good. PM sent, Breadman.\
Hmm...I think that I want to have green on top with white on the bottom, if I can.
Ok, that looks like it, Thanks!

Not sure where the best forum in CC is to get attention, so I'll just piggy back on this discussion.
In addition to creating a great display, we would like to also see some castle presentations. There is a variety of things we can go for. A round table might be good. Presenting on various standards would be good. We should also schedule some show and tells.
On show and tells, often in the past, whole themes have done show and tells, but I think it might be interesting for individuals to schedule a show and tell if you have a significant MOC. For example, I plan to bring my big scorpion castle again, and scheduling a show and tell for this might be nice. At NWBrickCon, only a handfull of people got to see the inside.

Hey, all:
I posted a topic about the photoshoot in General. (Josh, if it could get stickied, that'd totally rock.)
I figure if the attendees could just shoot me a PM, so I can keep track of who's who, who's bringing a fig, etc.
I'd also like to ask for help: I have a very small collection of castle figs, let alone any of any age. The oldest two I have are the ones I've received from the Xmas Fig Exchange. I know more than a couple of you have more extensive fig collections: if you would be willing to help construct sigfigs, let me know. As I get the pictures and requests, I can let you know who needs to be constructed.
I'd be much appreciative. Thanks!
