Wind Mill

Post by gh0st0f0nyx »

Hello!
I just wanted to show this. I made this along time ago so...yeah. I wasn't really caring about colors and I'd make a new one if I found the piece I used.
Anyway, it actually spins. You guys know the nba set where the figure slam dunks with this rotating brick? well I used the rotating brick piece so that the windmill actually spins. If I could go through my lego collecton to find it, I'd make a better one. Oh well...
Here's the gallery

Not bad. The blades seem a bit to long, but aside from that, it's very good.

It's pretty good. However, I agree with Kelderic that the blade seems a bit big.

Yea. I don't even know where these pieces went. But if I could rebuild it, I'd fix that and the color

Color, blades and take a look at some medieval mills on google images. You can get a good inspiration there.

Here you go. It's by Jacob C., a member here.

Wow! That looks cool! He should make like a castle using those as towers!!
Anyway, thanks. It looks pretty cool. The only problem is that I don't have big quantities of those pieces. I only have red 2x2s and some random colored bricks. I do have those pieces required in that picture you showed me but it would be all different kinds of colors...and it wouldn't be very tall...
Any way you can do something like this with just using bricks?
Thanks anyway. Although, that does look cool! looks very detailed and realistic.
Oh and also, should I have put this in castle mocs since it's castle related?

Oh, he has. That tower is the keep in this castle and he used the same technique in this castle. John Langrish also used that technique in his Stoneguard Hold

Here is one by Cbolego, that I've always liked. Also you can do it with bricks and hinges. This one, by our very own DARKspawn, comes to mind.

It probably would have been viewed there more. Would you like it moved?

Wow, I was actually going to make a copy of that same pic as my medieval life entry for CCC4 but had to abandon it before I really started due to lack of brown & time.

I have since decided to build a simple Viking windmill based on this kind of design. It seems to be a very popular medieval windmill design that I have never seen done in LEGO
