Tachioujou ~Ah, yet another Vig of Japanese History~

(when public)

I don't feel like typing so I'll paste wikipedia. Luckily they had it in ENglish:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saito_Musashibo_Benkei
and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minamoto_no_Yoshitsune

But I'll type the important bit.
In 1189 Yoshitune and his counterpart Benkei were surrounded by Yoritomo's soldiers. Yoshitsune's brother, Yoritomo had finally got him. Yoshitune retired to the inner part of their hideout the Koromogawa no tate to commit seppuku, while Benkei was fighting off the troops. But it was one against.. well, alot, and mighty benkei could not defend them all. He was shot by tons of arrows, and finally, died. But amazingly, he was still standing.
This became to be known as Benkei no Tachioujou. (The standing death of Benkei)

I couldn't really 'stab' my minifig with arrows so I didn't put anything. the fire of Benkei is taken from this pic:

Ha! Very cool. I've been meaning to make both Benkei and Yoshitsune for a while, and I'm very happy to see your versions. :D

I like your naginata, and the building behind the figures is also great.

Can't wait to see more of your Japanese history vignettes!

I like this one better than the last. Especially the wall is very nice! Why didn´t you use fleshies though, as you did for the other one?

One way I've done that is by using minifig screwdrivers, as seen here and here.

Anyway, kool MOC. I like the blade done with the lightsabre handle and the knife. May I ask why you take such an interest in Japanese history?

Simple. Lego hasn't released a fleshie version of Benkei's head. :)
