It was briefly mentioned elsewhere in the thread. Most people have put their marker near where they live, not right on their house. Also, no one is being forced to do this. If someone isn't comfortable with it, then they shouldn't do it.

Also, most of the safety concerns with online privacy are to do with young children - and virtually all of us are (hopefully) mature teenagers or adults. I don't see any real 'dangers'.

When I said I was surprised, it was not that I thought is was bad, I'm just surprised that no one had had a safety issue. Of course, that is not as important as most of us are adults.
