My latest shop, this one is a 3 story. The books are on the first 2 floors while the shopkeeper and his wife live on the 3rd floor.

Hi Jason,

This creation is impressive. Everything is right about it. I love the exterior, the overhangs, the roof, and the colors.

The interior details, especially the furniture and bedspread are great. You have put good thought into getting to each floor. I also like the opening "shutters" for the first floor shop windows.

Great moc, one of the best tudor style ones I have seen.

Thank you for the comments. I did take a lot of time working on those interior details. I normally only worry about the outside as most of my creations are for display in a layout. Those shutters resulted from a desire to make an opening that didn't use the same technique we all saw in the Blacksmith Shop.

Hello!

This shop is great. Bookshops are great in general, and your LEGO version is really fine.
The bed is particularly nice. That's what a bed was like in medieval times.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm pretty fond of bookstores (and books) myself, once I buy a house, I plan to turn one room into a library. Fireplace (hopefully), tall back chairs, and floor to ceiling bookshelfs, the whole deal.

Wow, this looks great. It's as if you plucked it right out of a storybook. And the details are exquisite! Books, windows, beds, quills....

Hi Jason,

This is a great example of the tudor building style. The color choice is excellent. I have used this one myself and really liked the results. Your attention to detail is great, very nice work. Every floor has those special touches that makes this house more than just another tudor house. The bookseller himself looks a little drab with the torso he is wearing, but perhaps he is too engrossed with books to bother seeing a tailor.

Ah hah! Someone got the quill. I've had lots of people ask what that was supposed to be. "Storybook" quite the compliment. Thanks!

I'll see if I can replicate my sucess with the next ones. About the seller's clothes, perhaps you caught him in the middle of a home improvement project?

That is one nice building. The way you used those brown and tan elements is nice. I may never have enough pieces of those colors.

Thanks. Those pieces aren't that hard to find. I bought a bunch of the 1x1 round bricks on BrickLink and the tan came from Yoda. But you could easily change the brown pieces for black and the tan for white, which would make it less challenging.

Very atmospheric creation. Coincidence has it I ran into this on MOCpages the other day and still found it timeless.
It's creations like this that have paved the way for many of the buildings we see now in Castle MOCs, and that's something that can't be overlooked, even if this was built seven years ago.
The great thing about tudor buildings is that they work in just about every colour combination, and you've really shown that in your collection of MOCs. At least from what I see on MOCpages, I haven't been a member here long enough to see your MOC presentation threads here.
The brown and tan, as said, is really still an awesome combination for tudor buildings, one that I'll still be using for years to come. I just love the way the lively colour schemes of most tudor buildings we see really liven up the grays and greens of your average Castle environment. It just completes it in every way.
Very cool stuff! And definitely one of the creations that paved the way for today's creations! Bravo
