Wow. That almost looks finished! I personally am not a fan of Fleshies, but for Customs, I really like their look. In MOCs on the other hand, I like yellows.

Nice job! Love the leg decals.

Very nice! I have been watching previews for the movie, and instantly recognized him for Leonidas. I like the attention to detail, and the way you have painted the shoulder, and the feet. It gives him a much more realistic feeling.

Thanks guys. As soon as I can scare up a flesh torso I will have a more "film" inspired version. This one, while not historically correct is based on that statue in the original link, which is clearly not historically correct either, but if you look at most statues they add modern details or change things slightly. So I am pretty pleased. As soon as I get those missing parts I will finish him off and snap some new photos.

That is really good. I think it is the first time I've enjoyed a flesh-colored minifigure.

I can't wait to see what he looks like when he's finally "finished"

Welcome to our humble abode! I have seen your works, and your name kicked around (in a positive way of course) over on MCN.

I really dig this design. I would love to see you (and/or Isaac) make a "hoplite" cuirass. A muscled bronze cuirass could be pained brown and used for Roman armies as well. I suppose euro armor can stand in for the mean time with the frills cut off. The decals are very well designed, lots of detail without being too busy. And I liek the color palate as well. My last decal experience was as a 12 year old trying to get the decals on a model airplane. Arg! I need to give them a try. Great overall effect!

The armor definitely helps complete him. I like the shield decal.

 That really came together nicely! I love that helmet, it matches the rest of the MOC brilliantly (well, shiny!). Oh, and the toes remind me of the Pharoah Hotep minifig from Adventurers. Ah, memories...

quick question about the paint kit you found:

the painted hair looks as smooth as all get out - how's it look in real life? have you used this paint on other pieces (armor, torso, et cetera), and if so, how did those turn out? from the pictures it looks among the best and most natural paint i've seen. my first thought was "wow, i didn't know lego made black ron hair!", which is really the ultimate compliment. and for something along the lines of $1...well, you can't beat that, can you? but overall, how would you rate the product's results?

Zac,

I really like the paint. I haven't used it on a ton of things, but I did paint the motorcycle with some of it:

Image

And I painted GR's Eye sockets with it as well. I am sloppy with it honestly, I just slapped it on Ron's hiar piece and the bike and then hit it with a hair drier to dry it faster. That actually might be the trick to the smooth finish, the hair drier that is. It works really well and it is thin so I don't have to do additional thining.

On that hair piece I can see NO signs that it is painted, meaning that unless you were to look on the inside where the head goes you wouldn't know it wasn't made in that color. Hope that helps.

It looks like I'm not the only one who cuts up large quantities of fire! That is one sick Ghost Rider fig Kaminoan.

thanks kaminoan, i'm definately considering seeing if i can pick some of that paint up.

the fig still looks great, too (as does your ghost rider). although, to a certain extent, i think i like leonidas better without the helmet and armor (although you need that if you want it to look much like the movie scenes). i think it's because without the helmet and cape your armor design, which is superb, stands out so much more.
