This looks like it could be very cool. I have signed up for the emailing list, it will be cool to see how it progresses.

There is nothing wrong with MMO(RPG?)s but there are already thousands of them free and retail, why do we need another one? I have played a lego-like game called blockland for quite a long time now, and it was great fun. Blockand just came out for retail, and when it did the format of the blocks changed so that it didn't look like lego (Legal Issues) anymore... Guess what is coming out? A lego MMOG. Sounds fishy to me.

Anyway, I am quite interested in this, but I just wish that lego would drop the video games and start making more lego. The last couple years of lego hasn't impressed me at all. I think it is the obvious link of more videogames and less lego. Although, this years lego lineup looks great.

I was never much a fan of Blockland, but there was another group at GDC this year with a very cool "Lego - like" MMOG - check out http://www.roblox.com .

I'm not a MMRPG player at all, but at BrickFest 07 I talked with one of the head guys (which got me some sweet printed bricks!) and this seems like a really nice game! That's all I can say.

Is there any specifics on the Lego Universe release date?

I don't believe so, but you can keep up on news here. I'm sure they will post a release date, when they have one.

I might be interested in checking out a Lego MMORGP. But I'm not interested in signing up if there is any type of subscription requirement. Also, I hope that there are lots of ideas to be taken from this virtual Lego world that can be brought into my real Lego world.
