I haven't heard such a good idea for a while! All the arab buildings, forts, soldiers! And the crusaders! Wow, I certainly back you on this one, I'd like to see the theme realised by Lego very much.

It would certainly be very cool with a crusade theme but I´m afraid that they can´t do it because of ethical reason or something like that. It has been pointed out earlier in this thread.

But I agree that an "arabic" theme could be very good. Even as a fantasy theme it would be nice. There are tons of interesting arabic myths.

Eh, all your political correctness!
Well, at least an Arabic theme would truly be great! There are so many nuances in Arabic architecture, that Lego could produce masses of replicas of real mosques, palaces, forts, etc.

How about LEGO castle: the classics return!!

All the old factions (BF, Crusaders, DM, Black knights...etc) come back with slighty new designs and new castles! It'd be pretty cool I think.

But then again the possiblites of this are 9697945427 to 0000.01. :(

I would like to see a theme in castle that is just bandits and the good guys can be the people they stole from. make the Bandits sneaky like having hideouts in mountains forests and stuff. the sets could have like loads of traps and loot. the so called theme could be that the good guys are looking for people who stole goods from them and the good guys get killed by the bandits. I think it would be an awsome idea. The mountain set could contain regular bricks not the BURPS and LURPS. Would be neat and maybe a trap that actually does something. The Forest Hideout could have a huge load of trees and plant accesories the castle could be covered in foilage and the bandits have like a trap in the forest where the good guy falls into a pit or something. This would be a good idea kinda like Wolfpack but different.

Since it's here...I would like to see Lego move into more of a factions setting, like with the BF, BK, Crusaders, etc. Now of which are really bad guys or good guys, which leaves it more open to interpretation.

We all now know the new LEGO theme, which is mainly skeletons vs. crown knights. I personally hope that they shake this rivalry up with the inclusion of a third party, namely a rebel faction like the Wolfpack or Forestmen that aren't necessarily good or bad.

I know it's unlikely, but I'd really love to see a Vampire theme.

Anyway, I can't really think of all that much I want. I just want good quality sets, I guess, no matter the theme, era or style.

I'd like to see Greeks and Romans. Not to cash in on the success of 300, but I think a LEGO Coliseum and Mount Olympus would be pretty awesome, no?

Yes, a minifig scale Colosseum would be great. It would cost too much, but who cares ;) That would also be a nice model for a LEGOLAND to make.

I personaly think that romans and greeks would be fabulous! However I don't know if Lego would make many profits of the main target consumers, the kids. Fantasy would of course be great. I also think a rebel faction, an arabian, or mongol faction would be a real bonus. :D

God speed

The ultimate thread dig!

But still, all of the recent (AMAZING, wonderful) activity with new LEGO fantasy sets reminded me of this conversation we had a good four years ago in 2003...

ottoatm wrote:That said, I think I'd still prefer things to go more fantasy/castle... ...still, I'd love to have a dwarven army, or elven tree-castle in the collection...

SavaTheAggie wrote:Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a more fantasy style Castle, you know, LOTR-ish (without actually signing on with LOTR, though that would be very cool, and not going to happen), but I'm just biased that way

Ahh... it's nice to finally see some fantasy bricks coming out of the LEGO factories! :)

Now, about those elves... next year? heh heh heh
