Yoshi by Ct. Blockula
Hey all,
I know we've previously discussed Count Blockula's (Mike Crowley's) King Koopa. Now he's just posted Yoshi:
Somehow I missed these, but along the way he's also made Mario and Toad.

The Yoshi looks great. Very very well done. The fact that it's posable adds so much more to it.

Thanks, Bruce, for this thread -- as always, you rock!
And, thanks to everyone else -- I always REALLY appreciate feedback.
Yoshi was the most tricky one to build so far -- his shape was so unique. There's a lot of SNOT in this MOC. He's the type of model where every piece is not only essential to the over appearance, but also to the interconnectivity of the parts around it.
Right now, I'm working on Donkey Kong. He's basically a big brown hulk with a monkey face and tan hands and feet; so, I think he's gonna be an easy one to make. Then, I'll do one more character I haven't decided on yet, a rebuild of Bowser to make him in scale with the rest, and that should do it -- six total will be all I'll have time for, I think, if I ever hope to get six karts and a racetrack assembled in time for PDX. Fingers crossed!

Castles are kinda' like big, non-electrical stone spaceships that don't fly. Plus, you can stick your head out the window and breathe, and your eyeballs won't explode.

Yay! I got Mikey to post on CC! Haven't seen you around chat in ages (not that I'm around there so much either these days). Anyway, great work, and I'm looking forward to seeing the total race layout.

Yay!
And, just for Classic Castle (since monkeys are more "castle" than "space" anyway), here's a preview pic I took earlier today of Donkey Kong:
eek eek!

Wow, an exclusive! They all look really good, Count. I can see how Yoshi would be a difficult build, you did an excellent job! I really like the Donkey Kong head and can't wait to see all of them at Brickfest. See you there!Count Blockula wrote:And, just for Classic Castle

I've loved this series from the beginning, Mike -- I just wish you'd tag your MOCs on Flickr so I don't miss them in my RSS feed.
The tan radar dish is perfect for DK's belly. Nice. Can't wait to see all of them in a couple weeks at BrickFest PDX!
