How-To Contest March 2004: Drawbridges {Winners Announced!}

Post by Bricksidge »

Announcing the first How-To Monthly Contest. Each month will have a different topic. Topics will be chosen that have many different ways to be built. People's ideas will then be compiled into an article, for others to draw ideas from.

See the rules here

And some ideas here.

The contest is over, and the entries are here

Good luck to all who entered; the judges have begun grading.

Congratulations to Jason Catena, the winner of the March 2004 How-to Contest.

See the winner and runner-ups here: http://www.classic-castle.com/howto/art ... nners.html

Nice job to all who entered! It was a tough decision that the admins faced. I hope we can have even more entries for future contests.

Jason's prize, a custom forum name, shall soon be delivered by Troy.

And.... I just realized I promised to make a How-To article with all the entries. I'll get to that at somepoint...

Hey, hey! Congratulations, Jason! I was sure that his would be the winner. I guess I'm one of the runners up; thanks! Does my name coming before Jojo's mean anything? :wink:

WOO! Thank you so much! Now I have to build a castle worthy of that drawbridge. Good thing I ordered some old grey brick and plate packs. ;)

Thanks for the worthy competition: :shock: both the runners-up were beautiful and functional, and did a great job of demonstrating the principles.

The design I used was my own combination of line drawing and text ideas from The Medieval Fortress, by Kaufmann and Jurga (Da Capo Press), which I highly recommend.

Out of curiosity: will the posts I make as "Master Gatekeeper" retain that title at the end of thirty days, or will all my posts change back to "Villien"? I would understand if the picture wasn't kept past thirty days. If not, I'll just have to be happy with my new signature. :D
