Name to replace Rohanador, need help!

Post by Prince Imdol »

I am going to change the name of my story. The people reading it at school say its too much like LOTR (Rohan, Gondor). Anyway, I will need help finding a new name, because that will be the name of my www.net.
I have though of some.

Only $10.0 for 10 years. Now that is awesome.

Kydon seems to be cool yet somewhat unique~
Knight Templar
n. pl. Knights Templars or Knights Templar

You don't have to change. I like it the way it is. Remember, it's perfectly normal to be influenced by others, so who cares if it "sounds like LOTR"

As long as you don't make it too overt..(coughPaolinicough)

The thing is, I am planning to publish it. And Rohanador is kind of too much like LOTR. A couple names and other things is ok, but the name of the whole series, well its kind of too much like Gondor, and Rohan.

Good luck on your quest to get this published. I think that it's a great story. By the way, I voted for Venaria, because it sounds like a very mythical name, perfect for a vast country.

I voted Monarth.

Venaria sounds like a disease. :?

As for your story sounding like other stuff, I also noticed that your intro blurb is a barely edited crib of the Ikros intro. Not a good start.

For the general idea of naming conventions for your story, pick a language (LOTR "elvish" was based loosely on Finnish) and use that to influence your choices.

 Lol. I chose it anyway. I prefer it to Kydon or Monarth. Too clunky sounding. Venaria is smoother.

I am thinking probably Kydon or Venaria. Although maybe Monaria (Just a thought), also you guys are free to come up with stuff too, and you will be credited.

I agree actually... having worked in a college hospital sevaral years ago, I think that name would be a bit of a "show-stopper" for me...

But I could be biased.

Veneria sounds itchy and highly contagious.

Anyway, I hate for my opinion to bum you out Jr. Imdol, but I don't really feel terribly inclined to like any of those with GREAT esteem. Not that they're bad, but I suggest you give it more thought, as long as your concerned with what any of US think. BUT!!! In my personal opinion good sir. I recommend you go with your gut. Writing is an art form. Just like Lego©. Don't do it for us. Don't let us decide. Do it for you! Whatever name YOU like best I guarentee you will best suit your story and best suit your tastes as well. (You don't want to regret it later.)

Anyway, to answer your question more directly, If I had to choose one, I would choose Kydon. Only I'd add an R and make it Kyrdon.

:B

Much DOOM... I mean, LEGO© LOVE,

(EDIT) Another thoght, what about Kydonia? Or...meh nevermind, just saying, if you can't decide try mixing them up. :)

Okay then, so you'll name your comic something else, but have a kingdom called Rohanador? Sounds good.

I'd rather it not be called a comic. When it gets published, it will not have any lego illustrations. No hard feeling Danju.

My Quest is done!

Post by Prince Imdol »

I have picked the name. (Kind of unexpected) but I thought about it and I am saying Monarth is the best. I guess my site will be www.monarth.net.
I did like Kydon and Venaria a lot, so I will use them as other kingdom names in the story.
Thanks for all of your help.
