Hi guys,
It goes without saying how awesome it was. My pictures should be up later tonight, then I'll show you all! They're mostly centered around people-pictures.

I can't really pick out many specific highlights. There's lots of "LEGO moments" that happened, of course, and the people in general are the biggest highlights. I met a couple really awesome people I'd never even talked to online before who I really connected with. There were some tons of great MOCs, too many ways to spend money, and too little time.

It's too bad I missed you Lord Doom, but there's always another time at NWBrickCon and beyond!

See you all there (or sooner for some of you) I hope,
-John.

That would probably be NWBrickCon that some of us have mentioned. :wink:

Anyone else sick?

Not sick yet. I also have downed 16 oz of OJ ever day since I got home, too. I WILL NOT get sick this time.

Or I can hope.

Nope, not sick yet Andrew, but my girlfriend who was there Sunday is... go figure! My throat feels better after less talking too, and I've actually started eating right again, hehe!

Man, I wish I had been there! It looks like it was wonderful. I'm going to try to make it to the next NWBrickCon... maybe just the public day though.

Did you make it to the Expo Sir Brick, or were you an attendee? What's your name in case I missed you? Seems like several local castle AFOLs came out of the woodwork and at least visited us. I'd like to know if any of you are interested in our local club, the GPLR. Check out GPLR.org and PM me. Lord Doom looked oddly similar to his avatar...<:^)

For you lurking local Portland/Vancouver guys, I want to organize a one day showing at Sherwood's Robin Hood Festival this year. Let me know if you are interested. Plus the club has some other shows too.

Robin you're right, it's odd to go back and forth between real name and screen name!

I have pictures that I will be unloading. I am catching up at work. I run my own business, so whenever the boss is away, things fall behind, and the boss was away almost all of last week!

Bruce, there wasn't a keynote per se. Steve Barile, one of the three chief organizers (along with Christina Hitchcock and Kelly McKiernan) spoke at all four gatherings. He's also the informal leader of our local club. We had lots of others including a taped message from Jake McKee's now-former boss, Tormud Askildsen. Tormud's replacement, Richard Stollery, and Jake's replacement, Steve Witt were both on hand and spoke, as well as many others.

On the screen name thing, I do admit it was very, very odd to be referred to as "Darkie".

And Recluce: SOOOOO many people asked about the headgear pieces you did for me. :D

Okay, I'm finally home. So many galleries to go through, so much Lego to put away and real life to attend to! Can I just go back to Brickfest? :)

Anyway, it was awesome. Way to many things to mention, but the best was definitely seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

Highlights for me:
Hanging out with all of you.
Fighting with AFOLs in the Lego Store.
Having someone in downtown Portland ask about being a Minion.
Dinner trip with Andrew, Caylin and Mike. (You guys are awesome)
Wendy's with Steve Witt.
Talking to the public during the Expo (yes, I actually like that).
Hearing why the R2D2 keychains have their heads on backwards.

There was so much more, but who wants to read a novel?

It was a great experience,
Josh
AFOL and his money are easily parted.

Oops, forgot to repost here:

Highlights for me:

* Hanging out with all the great people in the extended LEGO community — both from The LEGO Company and fellow fans.
* The ride down with Caylin. I think I left my sunglasses in your glove box.
* MAX, Chinatown, and House of Louie with TBB’s very own Josh, world-famous Mike, and aforementioned Caylin.
* Having a minion.
* The new UCS Millenium Falcon in person.
* The singlest largest LEGO Castle display in North America, ever.
* Sessions standouts for me were LEGO Quality with Bjarke Schoenwandt and the future of LEGOfan.org with Kelly McKiernan.
* Lunch at Wendy’s with Steve Witt and The Usual Suspects.
* $1 minifigs from Bob Kojima and Paul Hetherington.
* MINDSTORMS NXT Sumo!
* Sharing a Mountain High Mudd Pie between two tables at Red Robin.
* Scratched and dented LEGO sets (no damage to LEGO inside) for 50% off at the Washington Square LEGO Store!
* Breann Sledge’s Bionicle creations.
* Nathan Proudlove’s completed Blacktron II
* The ride back to Seattle and post-BrickFest dinner at I Love Sushi with Dan Sabath and Dan Boger. Best sushi
* Seeing all the great photos in the BrickFest group pool on Flickr — more than 2,700 photos so far!

Phew. That was all so fun I’m now miserably sick. :D

Hey Richard, do we have any news on those TV news spots we had. It'd be great to see them if that's a possibility. Plus I'm sure others would love to see them too, just to see some of that display in "live action."
