The Bone Carriage - My Contest Entry

Post by imhotepidus »

Okay, I am not much of a castle builder in general, but some of you with pluralist tendencies will know me from CS. Anyway, the contest just got me inspired, so I built this:

Story:

The evil skeleton army transports its prisoners in the Bone Carriage, a rolling prison built from the finest ebony and the bones of their slain enemies.

Hey Roy,

Welcome to CC! We're glad our contest is drawing the attention of the larger community. I've changed your large images to clickable thumbnails. Please don't post images over 400 pixels wide/tall in the forums. I won't comment on the MOC as I'm one of the judges and will reserve comments until after all decisions are made.

Thanks,
Bruce

Roy,

First off, welcs to C-C! It's nice to get some other theme builders in here mixin' it up some more. Fresh ideas are always great fodder for the forum.

This is one scary prison wagon. The skulls out front are what stand out first of all in my mind, but upon further examination this whole MOC is chock full of great detail. The brick-built wheels are of course amazing, the white tiles keep that section from getting boring with just black and add texture at the same time. The various skeleton bits as bars and what-not...well I could keep going on, but suffice to say SUPERB job!

The only bit I'm not sure about (and PLEASE do NOT take this the wrong way) is the large skeleton peice on the front. It works, and fits, just not quite my style. But to each his own, eh?!?!

Woah... that is utterly fantastic! The use of bones is great, the legs for railing banisters, wheels, the skellie torsos as cage-bars, the bone-brick walls, and the skulls all over (including the "junior" one) are absolutely fantastic. The prisoner is great, I see he's been in there a long time! The bony additions to the elephant are nice as well, as is... well, the whole thing. Personally, and with no offense intended to other contestants, this has my vote (or, it would, if we were voting for these  ) for carraige winner. Awesome, awesome, awesome job.
...and that's how Equestria was made!

Hi Roy, Welcome to C-C.
It looks great, the wheels are nice. I did not think that a jewel could go in the elephant's eyes (maybe because I don't own a elephant  ), the toes on it also look nice. I have one question though: where did you get all those skeleton heads?

Lots and lots of Ogel sets and Harry Potter sets.

Anyway, thanks for all the great comments so far.

Welcome to CC. This is a very impressive creation. I particularly like the elephant, which is reminiscent of an Oliphaunt from LOTR.

Greetings and salutation! Welcome, Roy, the Classic-Castle. Your transport unit look very impresive. I like the contrast you have achieved with the black and white. Good luck!

This is a very very nice carriage. The SNOT'd walls look amazing, and the skeletorsos as windows is a very creative idea. I really like the multitude of skulls everywhere; especially on those fantastic brick-built wheels. The figures, both good and bad, are all nice, but that prisoner's the best. At least his captors feed him well! The spike covered elephant is really cool too. Those tooth pieces look surprisingly good on the feet. I also like those steps and the large white platforms quite a bit.

I don't like the white tiles. They don't look sufficiently bony to me. I love the rest of the bones everywhere, particularly on the railing on top and the torsos in the alcoves on the sides.

Welcome to C-C!

Your MOC is awesome! I love all of the details, The heads in the wheels, the torsos as windows, and the legs holding the railings. The cart drivers? are sweet. The balance of black/ white is very nice.

I like the elephant (or oliphant?) that is carrying it, especially the red jewels as eyes. The hooves are sweet, the tusk balls, and the stuff on the back is very nice.

A very well-looking MOC. Wish you the best of luck in the contest and have a great day!

I think that this creation has a very good chance of winning the catagory. Rather than build a huge carrage and give it a buch of horses you have cleverly designed a much better means of locomotion, namely the oliphant/elephant. The carrage looks very evil.

This is very nice also, reminds me of misty Island, and the game Jack and Dakster.
