The Samurai armour has the Green Gobby mask entirely replacing the front portion of the original armour. A little Sculpey was used to change the look of the eyes. Sword clip behind to hold the katana.

The samurai helm is your standard SW skiff guard's. Two holes were drilled to the sides of the helm, with cut-up cattlehorns glued on.

I finished the scythe last year, before I knew that the new Castle series were going to have it. This was originally intended for my Black Samurai, but the Kanji would not fit into this thinner blade.
The scythe blade uses ABS from one of those large 4x6 Lego flags. Two Lego clips were then cut and glued to the blade so that it'll click on to a polearm. Same concept as your official Lego axe-head.

The idea of the Fenris Wolf head for the Horse's helm, was also originally intended for my Black Samurai (but without those huge horns).
After hollowing out of the inside of the Wolf Head, I filled it with sculpey, forced it on, jammed more sculpey in, and boiled it together with the horse to achieve a "fit". With the sculpey contact to the Wolf Head being rough, while the horse head is smooth, the piece can be removed without much problems. This actually also makes it automatically fit the horse like a Lego piece.
Studs were then glued to the back of it so that two elephant tusks can be fitted as horns.

For the barding, the cut-out shape was rather painstaking. The barding design is meant to look like the torn skin of a Tatsu.
The decals were actually very difficult to put on; being such a large and unwieldy piece. I messed up 3 sets before getting the forth one on.

Thanks again to RB, who printed (repeatedly) all the decals for me.

Forgive me for going on and on.... Hope you will like the latest, Colour of the Samurai!

You know what? I could go on and on about this, but I will leave that for people who know more about what they are talking about. For me, I will simply say that it looks absolutely fantastic! The colors are very nice and everything flows beautifully.

Wow! That's just amazing. And you can take my not saying anything else, because with a custom like this, there's just too much to comment on and the amazingness can't even be expressed by pointing out the little things...you and your samurai...just amazing...

I think this latest creation of your yours is fantastic. I absolutely love the colour scheme, well done!

I don’t think you have gone on enough about it.

I want to know more about your creation, like:

1. How did you apply the metallic paint. Did you use spray paint, a brush or an airbrush?
2. What brand of paint is it?
3. Is the Samurai’s flag made of paper?
4. Where did you get his cool chest armour from?
5. Where did you get the horses face armour from?

I need to go back and have another good look at your work. – Wow!

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I'll try not to let it get to my fat head. :lol:

1. All painted surfaces you see are from aerosol spray cans.
2. Pylox - Metallic Mulberry
3. Flag is made of transparency, spray painted on one side, decalled on both.
4. Spliced from the really cool Lego Green Goblin headgear.
5. Horse's helm modified from the Lego Fenris Wolf head (first appearance in the Lego Viking series)

I am sure I speak for all us, when I say – “you are very welcome for the compliments”.

Thanks heaps for this info. I am trying my hand at customizing some castle figures and weapons. But so far all I have managed to do successfully do, is slice my thumb open with an x-acto knife, and bleed all over the house. But it is creations like yours which give me the inspiration to continue. Thanks again.

Yowza, there's no way, no possible way to convey the awesomeness of this awesome thing of pure awesomeness! Which is, by the by, awesome! Wow. I'll try, though... first off, it looks great! Second, it is great! The wolf's head for the horse-mask is absolutely nifty, and so so is the custom-ing you did to fit the horns that way! The sycthe is beautiful, much better than the new official one, the barding, the goblin mask as the breastplate itself... everything about this is fantastic!!! So much so that I used three whole exclamation points there! This is so great, I'm not even sad that you used the skiff helmet as a samurai helm before me! It's so great I can't stop using exclamation points! Wow, this is just....
............
I mean, wow. Perfectly dazzling! Wow.... just wow.
............
Did I mention wow?
...and that's how Equestria was made!

:shock: Excellent job! I love the barding, scythe, flag, and all that other good stuff. Green is my favorite color also. I would have to give this a 11/10.

It is awesome like the others. Can you do some group pictures?

Also, Emerald seems more exotic than Green. I think with all the effort you put into the Samurai maybe the name could get more than just Green? Do names matter anyway?

Anyway, great work. Is Blue next?

Superb piece of work Nick! For a purist like myself this almost makes me want to customize...almost...

The color is beautiful, the helm is great (what a wonderful use!) the armor is cool, and the wolf-head horse helm is inspired!!!

I have been converted (or I should say re-converted). When you see pieces of work like this green Samurai, it just re-enforces the urge to get out the knife, glue and paint.

No prob! Always glad to be able to convert/re-convert others into the fun of splicing and dicing lego!
I haven't had the misfortune to cut myself while customizing (yet), but this is due to the fact that I mostly use my trusty dremel and needle files; so not that much chance of cutting myself with a knife.

Shadowviking;
I kinda like my scythe too; was the first thing I finished for this custom. I'm quite relieved that it's different from Lego's, otherwise, I could've saved all the trouble and just used the official one.
Again, glad you like it. Just to remind you that you did have a part in contributing to this custom. ;)

Sir Brithead;
I may finally get a group picture done, once I repair my Red. Turns out his printed flag couldn't stand the test of time...
I did intend for the Green Samurai to be emerald coloured. Heck, I even bought Rub&Buff (as per Recluce's advise) Emerald to use for this. It (rub&buff) didn't go too well (though), guess I'm more adept at just plain spraying.
Sadly, no plans at present for anymore coloured samurai.

wunztwice;
C'mon, start customizing! I was once a purist too; no loss converting. C'mon (pulling and tugging)!!

Thanks for all support, guys.
