Well, I finally saw 300. It was definately as good as people had been telling me, and while there was a lot of gore, there was actually not as much as I would have thought.

Do you know why the Persians looked so monsterous and Mordor-ish?
Well... take note of the chronicler/story teller, and you'll know why. The whole movie was basically told from his point of view, (Gorgo's scenes could've been from her retelling of what happened when the 300 were away).
Anyway, they never show up close the ACTUAL Persians whom they fought in Platea, just the ones the 300 fought in Thermopylae, which keep in mind, is a story being told by the Captain (guy with eye patch).
