Awesome Black Castle MOC at Brickworld Chicago

Postby Starwars4J » Sat Jun 23, 2007 12:06 pm

I get these pics from Hinckley over at Eurobricks, who attended the convention. I don't believe he has an account here, though, but if he does please close this and let him open a topic. I just had to share this with you guys.

Remember awhile back a castle that blew all our minds, that had a large grey mountain and tiled sides? I bet this is the same guy...

Here's a teaser pic and here's the whole gallery.

It's truly fantastic. Thanks for the pics and information, Hinckley!

that castle has a very Tolkien-esque feel to it. Truly a work of art, not just a MOC!

Wow the detail on that is so awesome!
Between plotting to kill you all and chasing balls of yarn, I also build MOCs

It doesn't even look like LEGO, the detail is amazing. What colours did he use, it doesn't look black, or dark gray.
wrap me in a bolt of lightning,
send me on my way still smiling,
maybe that's the way i should go:
straight into the mouth of the unknown....

I think it's just the light. I'm pretty sure it's black

That looks very impressive. I love the technique used to give the rocky facade to it. A great piece of LEGO construction.

This castle is certainly different from most of the Lego castle's I've seen.
I agree with The Vanquished that it doesn't really look like it's Lego.
Looks more like Megablocks
I wished there were more pictures.

Haha, you're right. The word "Megablock" does have a bit of a negative connotation.
But in this case it was not meant like that

This creation is truly awesome. The castle/keep is very detailed and as mentioned earlier it does look very tolkien-esque. The cliff face is probably the best cliff face that I have seen, made out of Lego.
